New LG G Sport Costs $349: Samsung Gear S3 To Receive SMSGear Shortly
The wearable market segment seems to be firm in its presence from both the sides of the smartphone base, with Apple steadily preparing for the next 'Watch' release. On the other hand, Google continues to partner with different manufacturers to implement 'Android wear' technology in Watches. It's been fairly successful so far with at least Moto and Samsung making consistent progress.
Off late, the South Korean giants LG seems to have picked up the trends in Smartwatch markets with their initial release of the 'G watch' and 'Watch Urbane' models becoming instant hits. Now, LG plans to come out with a smartwatch totally targeted at the sports sector.
New reports from Pocket-Lint about the new LG smartwatch hints about a possible release date and the features it comes packed with. LG Watch Sport will reportedly cost users US$349 while another less-expensive variant, the LG Watch Style will debut at $249. Meanwhile, their primary competitors Samsung electronics are in the process of announcing an update that lets users text to others from their 'Gear S3'.
As reported by the Android Headlines, the Gear S3 wearable will soon receive the update to all devices which should enable the feature called ''SMSGear'', also letting users set a limitation of the number of messages arriving in. The app is currently listed in Android's primary development hub XDA Developers.
One of the limitations is that users currently will not be able to delete messages or entire conversations which were acknowledged by the developers who later revealed that none of the Android smartwatches are currently capable of handling that. Since the application is still under constant testing, the app is not publicly available for users to try it out.
One way to access the application would be to install both Android and Tizen Studio where further instructions are available. It might take more time for the developers to release a public APK and is also unlikely until the stable release is out to the app stores.
