2018 Lexus LC 500, LC 500h Review: Luxurious Hybrid Engine With Quick-Shifting 10-Speed Transmission
Toyota launched Lexus brand in 1989 as the part of its luxurious division, but instead of making distinctive vehicles, Lexus became an expensive re-badge of its mass market parent. The 2018 Lexus LC 500 and LC 500h is a new way of decisive, athletic, dynamic extravagance, and indicates a whole new direction of Lexus brand.
According to Digital Trends, LC 500 is certainly remains very consistent with its original concept's design, which the vehicle is fitted with run-flat tires that allow the spare-tire to remove. With that, the designers gave more opportunity to make it intense in the rear design.
The front engine/ rear-wheel-drive platform is set up for this situation to support a two-door hardtop car with a minor second line for a 2+2 design. The long low hood meet another variant of Lexus' spindle grille, and a brand arrow LED daytime running lights that underlines sharp expressive LED headlights that are set into the both corners.
Autotrader reported that there are two versions of LC: the LC 500 and LC 500h. The essential difference between the two LCs is the powertrain. The LC 500 has a 5.0-liter V8 gasoline-only engine. While LC 500h accompanies with a hybrid powertrain with a 3.5-liter V6.
The LC 500h has two electric motors that run a series system with a multistage continuously automatic transmission. Other than having a profound exterior, the two variants are identical. The LC 500 additionally makes a big appearance as the first-ever 10-speed transmission that is found in a luxurious car.
Meanwhile, LC 500h features a four-speed transmission that combined with a CVT to impersonate a 10-speed. The two vehicles modify the output in four phase to achieve the 10 speed, regardless of whether in manual or in automatic modes.
Lexus has not yet announced its pricing on LC but it will come nearer to the vehicle's arrival in North America in late spring of 2017. However, it identified an expensive competitive set that includes vehicles that will start in the $70ks to $120Ks.
