Lady Gaga Headlines For Beyonce At Coachella 2017 Despite Busy Preparations For ‘Joanne’ World Tour In August
Lady Gaga will be replacing Beyonce at the Coachella 2017. According to officials, Lady Gaga's team is finalizing plans for her to headline Coachella for two consecutive weeks. Beyonce cancelled last minute according to her doctor's advice. The "Lemonade" singer is pregnant with twins and by the time she performs at Coachella on April 15 and 22, she would be in her third trimester. She will instead be performing in Coachella 2018. Meanwhile, Beyonce's fans who abruptly sold their tickets after learning she was not appearing at the event are now shaking their heads in dismay.
Lady Gaga will be at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California. Festival organizers as well as AEG Live are making sure that everything is set and will make an official announcement the following weeks, Billboard reported. The "Bad Romance" singer is just months away from her "Joanne" world tour. Her 2017 series of concerts start on August 1 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C. with performances at the Forum in Los Angeles, Wrigley Field in Chicago, Fenway Park in Boston and Citi Field in New York.
Lady Gaga has been in the spotlight lately; her latest performance was at the Super Bowl LI at Houston. She also performed at the Grammy Awards Night with Metallica. Her performance at Coachella will make her the first female artist to headline the event since Bjork in 2007, Los Angeles Times reported.
Lady Gaga will headline Coachella 2017 together with Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead. Other artists that will perform are Future, Lorde, XX, Bon Iver and more. Coachella 2017 will run from April 14 to 16 and on April 21 - 23. Just last week, tickets prices plummeted after Beyonce cancelled her slot. But because of the latest turn of events, fans who sold their tickets are now regretting what they did. Artists that were also rumored to replace Beyonce were Rihanna and Chance The Rapper.
