Fossil, First to Operate Updated Android Wear 2.0 in March, Features Google Assistant
Many Android wear users are tightly waiting for its new updated operating system to hit their smartwatches, but it was not yet clear of how long that wait would be. Luckily, as indicated to the company, the Fossil users will now have the capacity to experience the new operating system in mid-March.
Digital Trends reported that the roll-out of Android Wear 2.0 to Fossil devices will come in phases, which means it rely on what region the user might be, this implies that the users will never get the updated Android Wear 2.0 in a few weeks. Android Wear 2.0's big features are the Google Assistant on users wrist, and when directing an initial review of the OS it was not entirely clear on how this thing would function.
Last year, the operating system of Android Wear 2.0 was initially announced at Google I/O, however, Google delayed its actual release date of the operating system until this year. Google has constructed Wear 2.0 to run the application locally on the watch, however, the step on empowering Google Assistant in the wrist is allowing an access to that feature from the phone.
According to Android Central, now that Google announced Assistant, it will be expected to roll out to anything runs Android 6.0 or higher as a Google Search update. And of course, Fossil's watches will be having a little different, because the company will put a heavier emphasis on the watch from being a fashion accessory.
The second form of an operating system have a feature that is totally a revamped user interface, and instead of going through some various of different swipes to get into different screens, the OS will focus more on a simple vertical outline. The new updated Android Wear 2.0 will also bring a watch-face "Complications", or small subdials that will act as notification-focused widgets.
Moreover, those Complications can be customized, which permits the user to assemble the watch face that might best suit the user. And to wrap things up, the new platform will carry independent applications.
