Google's Digital Assistant Now Available To Almost Every Smartphone: Google Android Messages App Acquires RCS Platform, Availalbe in Sprint & More
Google just drop its new update for Android and make smartphones more useful for its users. The first update is the Google Assistant, making it available to almost all smartphones. The second update is the new Android message application, changing the name of Android Messengers to Messaging.
Google is now making its digital assistant almost available to all smartphones. Google Assistant was only first made available to its Pixel and Pixel XL phones and other like Allo messaging app, Android watches, and Google Home smart speaker. It was first launched back in October competing to Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri, The Financial Express has reported.
But just this week, large smartphone manufacturers like LG, Sony, Samsung, HTC, and Huawei, Google made available to its Marshmallow - Android 6.0 and Nougat - Android 7.0. Also, Google's Assistant is also coming to U.S and UK this week for English Speakers and for the following week is for German Speakers. There will also be languages added this year.
Meanwhile, Google also dropped a new Android message application and changes the Android Messenger into Android Messages. The new updated message application automatically default the messaging app on Android phones. This will be pre-installed on the smartphones of Motorola, Sony, LG and other alongside with Pixel and Pixel XL phones.
The soon upgrade for Android Messages application will be more powerful as RCS or Rich Communication Services will shortly replacing SMS. RCS will offer the users such as receipts that further shows if a message has already been read, stickers, maps are presented and much more, Marketing Land reported.
RCS on Google's Android Messages will be available on Sprint, Telenor, Vodafone, Globe, Orange, Deutsche, Telekom, and Rogers. Also, Goggle is now soliciting ideas to have RCS more interactive features, Walgreens, Philips, Time Inc, Uber, and much more. Meanwhile, Google didn't further give details as to when its Android Message will be available.
