Fans were very dismayed over the canceled supposed to be the third installment of "Tron." Reports claimed that it is more likely years ago since the movie added a second installment of the film. Fans may think that was actually the end, but the director of the movie, Joseph Kosinski, hinted they might be back and make it a real world invasion movie.

"It is not dead," said Kosinski claimed that the third sequel of "Tron" isn't over and was just sitting tight waiting for the right time. The director indicated and revealed the plans for the upcoming sequel. The movie will still have the title "Tron: Ascension" as per confirmed by Kosinski during a post-screening interview.

The 42-year-old director claimed that the script in the postponed sequel was already about eighty percent. It was almost done when Disney decided to halt the developing production of the film and to focus on Licasfilm's "Star Wars," Deen of Geek has reported.

The upcoming "Tron" movie described as an invasion movie from inside the machine coming out. Kosinski shared a little bit more information the end of "Legacy" that would inform the story of "Ascension."

At the end of the "Tron: Legacy" sequel, Quorra comes out and the upcoming "Tron: Ascension" movies were the first act in the real world. "The second act was in the world of Tron, or in the multiple worlds of Tron, and in the third act was totally in the real world," Kosinski explained and he thinks that it really opens up and blows the concept of "Tron" and will be thrilling to see on screen.

Ever wondered why "Tron" was easily halted by Disney? Kosinski shared that the movie was canceled and had to do more with the wealth of high-profile properties Disney accumulated at that time than any negative assessment of the "Tron" Franchise, NME has reported.

Kosinski stated that everyone should remember that when they made "Tron: Legacy," Disney didn't own Marvel. Disney didn't own Lucasfilm but pretty own everything now. The studio does have a tight schedule and slots and a certain amount of money to make movies.

Disney just opted to make Marvel movies and a Star War spinoffs, which all are no doubt to make a buzz. But Kosinski assures that they would definitely see one at one point.
