Earth-Like Planets Of Trappist-1 System Can Have Life Forms If It Has The Earth's Atmosphere
The discovery of TRAPPIST-1 system has been a noise that is filled with questions as to how this discovery can change the lives of human on Earth. Seven years ago, there were no such thing as earth-like, although outer space missions on nearby planets were just an addition to the documents that NASA currently holds. It is already accepted that there is nothing like the atmosphere of the Earth that can supply all the nourishment that life needs.
TRAPPIST-1 system is 40 light years away, with an initial of three planets as discovered by the team of Michael Gillon of the University of Liege. With the use of both outer space and local telescopes, the three planets of this system were seen last year, as Aljazeera reports. Now that there are already seven of them, with the four additional planets recently revealed, their curiosity and hunger for knowledge seek more details from these planets.
Shadows or "transits" have been used to determine how long does each planet has in a year and the distance each of them has from their star. Transits are seen on earth by the planet's passing in front of its main star, like the sun of the solar system. The distance of each planet of the TRAPPIST-1 system will reveal how the planet maintains its warmth.
This is the key to the TRAPPIST-1 system discovery according to reports from The Aquinas, with further details about the planet's activities on their star. Considering that the TRAPPIST-1 is a dwarf star, astronomers has discovered how close these planets orbit their star. The planets are so close to their star that it will only take them one day for the innermost planets to complete one complete orbit and the others at a maximum of 20 days only.
As in the same case of the solar system, the nearer the planet to the sun, the hotter the planet will be and vice versa. Astronomers have discovered that the three middle planets have habitable zones for living things, with temperatures that can maintain liquid water. The discovery is very useful for future discoveries, but as long as these planets do not have the same atmosphere the Earth has, life will not flourish there.
The same way as Hubble Space Telescope has observed as it passed by the TRAPPIST-1 system, some of its planets already lacked the distended atmosphere. Seemingly, it only showed a rocky planet just similar to the Earth.
