Margot Robbie has landed the role of Maid Marian in the new reimagining of the classic tale of "Robin Hood." The Hollywood actress will also be the producer of the film and it will largely revolve on her character coming to power after her lover Robin Hood dies.

The name of the film will be 'Marian' where Margot Robbie will avenge the death of Robin Hood. The Guardian reports that she will be leading a resistance war in an attempt to bring justice to the untimely death of her lover.

The outlet adds that the "Marian" movie was highly bidded before it was won by Sony. Along with Margot Robbie, the film will be produced by Amy Pascal ("Ghostbusters," "Spider-Man: Homecoming") and Donald De Line ("Pain & Gain," "The Italian Job").

It looks like "Marian" won't be the only Robin Hood film coming out in the future. Another movie called "Robin Hood: Origins" which is lead by Jamie Dornan is currently being produced as well. While many Robin Hood films have been done, the one Margot Robbie stars in will largely focus on the damsel turned revolutionary Maid Marian.

Margot Robbie's career has been blossoming since her stint in "The Wolf of Wall Street." She has also starred in the Oscar-nominated "Suicide Squad" as Harley Quinn. Robbie will be starring again as the character in the spinoff "Gotham City Sirens" where her character will be joined by other DC characters. The Hollywood actress is set to star in the biopic of Tonya Harding called "I, Tonya," according to Mail Online.

There is no official announcement yet but "Marian" will reportedly be released sometime next year after "Robin Hood: Origins." Are you excited to see Margot Robbie in the new Maid Marian-centric film that is based off on Robin Hood? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
