'Overwatch' Latest News: Blizzard Will Release Orisa Late March; New Hero, Ana Will Be Nerfed In New Update
Earlier this month, Blizzard has announced a new "Overwatch" hero named Orisa. In fact, the character is already live on the Public Test Realm (PTR). However, the developing team has decided to keep her longer on the PTR to be nerfed down along with another hero named Ana.
Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan explained about Orisa's fate in "Overwatch." GameSpot reports that Kaplan has not specified the exact time for when the new hero will be launched in the game but only said "later in the month."
Orisa is a guardian robot made by the robotics genius Efi in "Overwatch." She is classified as a tank hero and according to Jeff Kaplan, her abilities will be nerfed again in the next patch. In fact, she has already been downgraded since she was introduced in the PTR. The magazine size of her weapon has been downscaled to 150 from 200 and her Supercharged Ultimate weapon now costs 15 percent more.
Express reports that Ana is receiving the biggest nerf in the new "Overwatch" patch. The expert marksman will have her damage lowered down considerably. Her Biotic Rifle now only does a damage of 60 from 80 and her grenade now only makes 30 damage from 60. The same rifle she uses for her enemies that can restore heal to her allies has been decreased from 100 to 50 as well.
The abilities of other "Overwatch" heroes will be modified as well. Junkrat will no longer take damage from his own explosions. Sombra's sound effects have been reduced and the cooldown of her translocator is now down to 4s instead of 6s. Changes have been made for Zenyatta and Winston as well. The full patch notes can be seen in the official website of the game.
