Marvel Cinematic Universe never fails to surprise the audience. This time its "Thor: Ragnarok" that did the surprising or rather shocked the fans.

Entertainment Weekly has released the first official images of "Thor: Ragnarok" and Thor has gotten a major makeover. The character's signature luscious blond mane is gone.

"It was nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning," EW quoted Chris Hemsworth who played Thor since 2011. "It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character."

Along with the new haircut, the Norse god is also wielding a new kind of weapon in the cover of the tabloid. Thor's iconic hammer, Mjölnir, is nowhere to be seen and he has two swords in each hand instead. Now fans are speculating the fate of the hammer in "Thor: Ragnarok".

The gladiator armor-clad Thor has not featured alone on the cover of the EW's March edition, though. Just beside him is standing the villain of "Thor: Ragnarok", Hela- Goddess of Death.

Cate Blanchett is playing the role of Hela. Thor's friend and ally Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, is also featured on the cover.

As previously reported by Latin Post, "Thor: Ragnarok" has more comedic elements than the previous two Thor standalone movies. However, Director Taika Waititi of "Thor: Ragnarok" stated that sometimes people mistakes that a change in tone means 'some ridiculous broad comedy' where the hero just goofs around.

This is, however, not the case of "Thor: Ragnarok". Waititi wants the fans to care about the story, and the hero and his journey to achieve his goal. He also stated that he is not nervous but feels really good about the movie.

Talking about her character Hela in "Thor: Ragnarok", Cate Blanchett revealed that she has been locked away till now but gets unleashed by mistake. Now Hela is making sure no one will put her back in the box.

Plot spoilers stated that Hela attacks Thor and sends him to a desolate planet Sakaar in "Thor: Ragnarok". Thor becomes a gladiator in Sakaar and reunites with none other than Avenger's teammate Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo.
