Even though the Cupertino-based tech giant has not officially announced any information about their iMac 2017 release date, the industry experts are already speculating the updates. If rumors are to be believed, then the latest Apple desktops will not be powered by Intel.

Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed, as cited by MacRumors, in a shareholder's meeting on Feb. 28 that if the company doesn't say anything about their products, it doesn't mean that they are not working on it. Cook's statement came as a sigh of relief for the Apple fans and enthusiasts who were getting skeptical about the iMac 2017 release due to lack of information.

According to the speculation, iMac 2017 release date may likely be at the time of WWDC conference in June. However, experts also believe that Apple also launches new products in its spring event, so new iMac 2017 may be announced as early as March as well. However, with just a few more days for March to end, it is safe to assume that the announcement will not come in this month.

Meanwhile, another rumor about iMac 2017 is not regarding its release date but its specs. The next gen desktop is expected to boast a much lighter and slimmer design, as compared to its ancestors. Additionally, the new desktop may come with 5K Retina display and AMD's latest chip, Ryzen 7 1800x, designed specially for the iMac.

At the same time, MacWorld noted a Best Buy iMac listing leaked in Oct 2016 with Kaby Lake "7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor." Many clues about iMac 2017 release date also suggest that the upcoming desktop may have Intel's Kaby Lake processor under the hood. As far as other specs are concerned, they include OLED Touch Bar, AMD Polaris 10 or Polaris 11 graphics unit, USB Type-C Thunderbolt and Touch ID, among other things.
