Maksim Chmerkovskiy can't wait to head to the altar with Peta Murgatroyd despite the fact that his fiancée wants to reschedule the grand wedding. Following a one-year engagement, the Ukrainian dancer can't wait to get married to the love of his life this summer.

According to ET Online, the "Dancing With the Stars" co-stars got engaged during a performance of Sway at the Olympia Theatre in Miami. The mesmerizing event took place in December 2015 as Maksim got on one knee and said, "I'm in love with you, and I will be in love with you for the rest of my life."

Despite a one-year delay, Maksim has his fingers crossed for a summer wedding. He seems to be draped in love with fiancée, Peta and waiting to tie the knot soon. "In my personal life, I can't wait for my wedding in July," Chmerkovskiy, 37, told Vulkan Magazine.

Mainly recognized for his role in "Dancing With the Stars," Maksim is the one rushing for marriage. Peta, on the contrary, is seemingly moving slow and taking her time to think about bringing forward her marriage.

The high-spirited duo welcomed their first child Shai Aleksander in January. The trophy winner maintained that this has been his greatest accomplishment of all times. Regardless of winning various titles, it is not something to derive your existence from, rather being a parent means success and accomplishment for the 37-year old.

The choreographer usually has a busy schedule but takes time out to spend with his son. As for Whether Shai will follow the footsteps of his parents, Maksim wants to give his son a variety of options to choose for himself.

As of now, the couple has commenced their marital preparations and are hoping for a summer wedding. "Dancing With the Stars" airs on Monday every 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
