Snapdragon 835 Processor, Shows How Powerful The Chips on Benchmark Results
The Snapdragon 835, is a Qualcomm's promised new flagship processor for 2017 that would boost the performance by 27 percent to 40 percent of power consumption reduction. The first benchmark results of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 has been compared, as it is coming soon in smartphones like Sony Xperia XZ Premium and Samsung Galaxy S8.
According to TechAdvisor, benchmarking is to test a reference design smartphone to give an idea to the consumer of what to expect from smartphones and other products that will use the Snapdragon 835 chip. In Qualcomm's headquarter in San Diego shows the 835 running basic smartphone in a hardware platform reference and were able to run basic benchmarks to measure the performance of the new chip.
Qualcomm points out that Snapdragon 835 are unable to assess various areas such as the connectivity, photography, VR, audio, security, and charging. Snapdragon 835 is also a faster chip than the previous Snapdragon 820 and 821, though it does not build on Kryo's design, still, Qualcomm is calling the CPU portion of Snapdragon 835 as "Kryo 280."
Along with the AnandTech report, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835's updated Adreno 540 GPU will have the same basic structure with the Snapdragon 820's Adreno 530, but it receives optimization on removing some congestion along with the tweaks to ALUS and register file. And now, instead of calling its chips as a "Mobile Platform," Qualcomm call it a "Processor" though it did not receive enough credit for its products.
Snapdragon 835 can manage off-screen frame rates of up to 116fps, as it beats the iPhone 7 Plus and Mate 9 at a fixed resolution of 1080p. It also has a 25 percent faster than the Pixel XL, which has the highest performing Snapdragon 820 phone. Qualcomm claimed that the chips are not just a processor of SoC, it is a combination of hardware, software, and services. The Snapdragon 835 promises a greatly reduced power consumption, because of Samsung's 10nm manufacturing process.
