V. Stiviano, the woman at the center of controversy surrounding former NBA owner Donald Sterling, was reportedly assaulted in a racially motivated attack on Sunday.

Stiviano's lawyer told RadarOnline that she was badly beaten up by two white men in New York City on Sunday evening.

She was leaving the Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan's Meatpacking District around 7 p.m. when "two white men descended on her," said attorney Mac Nehorary.

"They were about 5'7 and they knew exactly who she was. They began to hit her and called her the N word. Other disgusting slurs were made against her. She was able to run away and several onlookers then began attempting to apprehend the two men."

He added that Stiviano was punched several times and her face was red and swollen. She was also taken to a doctor.

However, Stiviano didn't immediately file a police report, because, according to her lawyer, "she had to get out of there."

"I believe she will file a police report Monday," he told CNN.

Stiviano rose to fame after her recording of the ex-Los Angeles Clippers owner using racist remarks was leaked. In the recording, Sterling goes on a rant against African-Americans and chastises Stiviano for posting pictures online of herself with Black people like legendary basketball player Earvin "Magic" Johnson. He also demanded her not to bring Johnson to Clippers games.

As a result, Sterling's inflammatory remarks to Stiviano spawned outrage among NBA fans, players and executives. He was also banned from the NBA by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and charged with a $2.5 million fine. He is no longer an owner in the NBA and is suing the NBA for $1 billion.

Sterling's alleged mistress traveled to New York to appear on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 on Monday.
