iOS 8 was revealed on June 2 by Apple. The upcoming iOS 8 release promises to offer users advanced features and tools to build new and remarkable apps for developers. iOS 8 is the newest operating system for Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod.

The notification center in iOS 8 is both more refined and interactive, and replying to your Facebook messages and liking posts can be done straight from the notification itself. It is also possible in the lockscreen.

A drop-down menu has been added in the mail application, so you can easily add dates to your calendar for any and all events. Faster access to contacts is made quicker with the improved Task Switcher as well. Apple has its own version of Google Now in the form of the the general search function known as Spotlight.

QuickType also made the keyboard better, featuring predictive recommendations while you type and predicting the next word depending on your past-use history. The iMessage has some additional features to group messaging, where removing a person or naming a conversation thread can both be performed. You can also record video or audio and send it to people included in the chat with the Tap to Talk feature.

iCloud is Apple's alternative approach to the omnipresent DropBox. Incorporated into iOS 8 is the iCloud Drive, where a contextual menu is featured on the platform via the OS. iCloud assimilation with third party apps is available on CloudKit for developers.

One of the most talked about apps is the new Healthkit app, which allows you to get a comprehensible summary report of your health and fitness. Users can also now control their phone without touching it by talking and responding to the Siri personal assistant. The release date of iOS 8 was said to be in autumn, but the exact date has not been divulged.
