Conan, the United States military working dog that was badly hurt during a mission to raid the already fallen ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is proposed to be given an award of Purple Heart for its extraordinary and heroic stint.

According to a military veteran, the Belgian Malinois military working dog is not eligible for that highest military honor.

Based on a statement released to the public by Former Army Ranger Michael Bollinger to the New York Post, he believes that Conan should receive the Purple Heart award because it deserves the award and that it should be eligible to accept the Purple Heart award because of its presence during the successful mission.

According to a United States soldier, James Knuppenburg, who had received a Purple Heart after surviving a sniper shot during a mission in Kandahar, Afghanistan, he agrees that Conan should receive the Purple Heart award for its contribution to the success of the mission that ended the life of the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The exact words of James Knuppenburg were, "I would love to see Conan presented a Purple Heart with a live ceremony. I think that the K9 is the most valuable asset on the ground. I don't think that you can replicate through technology or any sort of weaponry what the K9 is capable of ... Without a doubt, I think that any award - including the medal of honor - should be able to be received by a K9."

Conan was made famous through the social media post of President Donald Trump regarding an edited photo of him giving a medal to Conan. The president had also said in the post that Conan will be arriving at the White House in a few weeks to reenact live the edited photo.

Conan is not the real name of the military watch dog that was on the mission to raid the fallen ISIS leader al-Baghdadi. The K-9's real identity was kept from the public including its name to secure the details of those who were involved with the raid.

The name Conan was given to him after the famous television host, Conan O'Brien. This name was given to the military working dog by Newsweek Reports. The dog had been famous with the name "Conan" ever since.

Conan had been part of numerous missions before his participation with the raid of the now-dead ISIS leader al-Baghdadi. During that mission, Conan had run through a tunnel that got him injured for being in contact with live electrical wirings while chasing the ISIS leader.

Conan is just one of the many military working dogs that had contributed and served for the peace and order of the US. The common dog breeds favored by trainers for military work are Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds, and Dutch Shepherds. These breeds are favored for their physical strength and intelligence.

The training for these military working dogs starts upon their birth where they are trained to sniff out illegal drugs and explosive devices. They are also trained to improve their physical abilities for a mission such as terrorist raids to assist military personnel.

For its hard work and perseverance in every mission, Conan should receive the Purple Heart award.
