The Grammy nominations have been revealed. Some artists are expected to make it while there are also those who are snubbed.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards is happening on January 26, 2020 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Eligible artists and songwriters whose works were released from October 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019 are taken into the pool of nominees.

Alicia Keys is back once again to host the event and fans cannot wait to see what she has to offer the second time around. Last time, she played the piano and honored some greats such as Lauryn Hill, Drake and Nat King Cole, per Bustle. Keys, a 15-time Grammy winner herself, says she would not miss doing it again. "Last year was such a powerful experience for me. Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music," a part of her statement reads.

As expected, there are heavy favorites, but there are also snubs. According to CNN, Lizzo is a major favorite with a total of 8 nominations. New artists making waves such as Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X received 6 nods each. All three of them are going to compete for the Record of the Year category alongside Billy Ray Cyrus for his collaboration with Lil Nas X, Bon Iver, Khalid, Ariana Grande, H.E.R., Post Malone, and Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd

Other musicians who made it to the New Artist category are Maggie Rogers, Rosalia, Tank and the Bangas, and Yola. Song of the Year nominees include "Always Remember Us This Way", "Bad Guy", "Bring My Flowers Now", "Hard Place", "Lover", "Norman F***ing Rockwell", "Someone You Loved" and "Truth Hurts".

All eyes will be on Rosalia as the singer is set to break some records. She is the first nominee in the Best New Artist category with a song that is completely Spanish. Her album "El Mal Querer" was awarded the Album of the Year in the recent Latin Grammy Awards.

When it comes to best rap album, Dreamville, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Tyler the Creator, and YBN Cordae are in the mix. Last year, the award went to Cardi B.'s "Invasion of Privacy". The nominations for 2020 best rap album is not without controversy as critics claim DaBaby, Gunna, Megan thee Stallion and Lil Nas X should be up there slugging it out, as Latin Post has recently reported.

While some names are not surprising on the list, fans have taken to social media about the exclusion of their favorite artists. South Korean groups BTS and Black Pink, who made global mega-hits, lost out on nominations. Ironically, some artists are competing against themselves. Bad Bunny has two songs in the best Latin rock, urban or alternative album. Chris Gehringer, who master engineered two albums that are going up against each other in the Album of the Year award, including Lana Del Rey's Norman F***ing Rockwell! and Lizzo's Cuz I Love You. Per Billboard, Gehringer is no stranger to competing against himself as this is the fourth time it has happened at the Grammys. On the other hand, he has not won any despite the double nominations.

Woman power has taken center stage this time around. Five out of the 8 nominees for Album of the Year are women: Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Lizzo and H.E.R.

Fans must tune in to CBS on January 26, 2020, starting 8:00pm eastern time.
