Galaxy S20 vs. iPhone 11 Pro: Which is Better for Your Bucks?
Many are now planning to replace their smartphones by buying a new one like the Samsung Galaxy S20 or iPhone 11 Pro. These are the flagship phones of the tech giants.
The two companies are now using different marketing strategies to promote their phones. According to a report released by the NPD it was found that less than 10 percent of Americans are buying the flagship phones. This means that these two companies need to have an even more strategic marketing to boost their sales.
In 2019, the smartphone shipments and profits somehow decreased and only grew around one percent during the fourth quarter. Last year, around 369 million units of smartphones were shipped to the United States and Apple and Samsung accumulated around 40 percent of the total smartphones shipped to the country. Apple shipped around 78 million units of its iPhone 11 while Samsung has shipped 11 million of their units.
In a published article from Ars Technica, it was stated that the flagship phones of both companies are similar and are really not that different from each other. However, to give you an idea on how these two phones differ, here are some things that you should know aside from camera quality and other specs:
Price
One of the first things that a consumer considers when buying a new phone is the price. Sometimes the price of the phone is used to impress others as it could be linked to a social status. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra starts at $1,399 and could be even higher if you intend to buy the upgrades from Samsung. On the other hand, the iPhone 11 Pro Max starts its price at $1,099 and could also be more expensive if you plan to buy a much more upgraded iPhone. However, both the Samsung Galaxy S20 and iPhone 11 Pro start their base models at a price of $999.
Nothing differs so much between the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and iPhone 11 Pro Max when it comes to design. Both of these phones use material called "Gorilla Glass" which is more durable compared to a drinking glass. This material can be seen at the front and back of the devices. Moreover, the glass also helps the devices when charging compared to other materials like steel that distracts from the charging process of the device.
There might not be too much of a difference between the phones, but there are still some advantages in using either an Android or iOS phone. Some tricks can be done in Android phones like changing the wallpaper, setting a default setting, Google Assistant app, Google Map, and more. Meanwhile, iOS phones can offer better wireless headphones through Apple AirPods.
However, according to Samsung this will somehow change because soon they will be releasing the first Bluetooth LE Audio device which has the same quality as Apple's AirPods.
If you are planning to replace your phone with the flagship phone of Samsung or Apple, then try to consider if the phone fits your personal needs or not.
