White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said President Donald Trump is considering signing an executive order that would unilaterally impose a stimulus plan and include an eviction moratorium and an extension of unemployment benefits if Congress cannot close a deal on the new coronavirus relief bill by Friday.

The first round of the stimulus payment under the CARES Act has already expired last week. Until today, stimulus negotiations are not yet over in Congress. As the days progressed, many Americans are waiting for the final details.

Trump announced this week that he will release an executive order if Congress will not act on the new coronavirus relief bill that would include the second round of stimulus payment.

According to a published report in CNN News, Meadows noted that Trump would sign the executive order if Congress cannot close a deal by Friday.

Meadows issued the statement after Republican senators raised concerns over the present situation on stimulus negotiation. If the HEALS Act or the next stimulus package will not be signed into law, many Americans will be evicted from their homes.

Two of the main provisions in the executive order that might be released by Trump will focus on eviction protection and enhanced unemployment payments, according to Meadows. These are the top priorities of Trump as the Americans struggle amid the global pandemic.

For his part, Republican Senator David Perdue said there is little progress in the talks, and it is not very encouraging for him. He further noted that not doing something to make the second round of stimulus payment be on the hands of Americans is irresponsible.

Another Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri said the status of stimulus payment worries him. He also said they do not have any idea what the final bill would be passed to the Senate or what is going on. He added that many of the Senators have the same sentiments.

Meanwhile, the top negotiators between the Republicans and Democrats have agreed on the next stimulus. However, they continue to struggle in deciding with the weekly unemployment claims.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is pushing for $600 a week, but Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin called it ridiculous.

The main purpose of the HEALS Act is to give aid to Americans who lost their jobs and put them back to work. Part of the HEALS Act is to provide an additional amount to Americans going back to work since this would also help the country's economy.

Republican senators are now showing frustrations on the progress and development of the stimulus negotiation, just like Trump.

The president wanted the Democrats and Congress to act on it so that millions of Americans would not get evicted from their homes and still have food on their table through the enhanced unemployment benefits.

As Meadows said, if Congress does not act on the next stimulus, Trump will release an executive order to ensure that Americans get the help they need during this time of the global pandemic.

This time, the top two priorities of Trump are to make sure that Americans will not get evicted from their homes because once they become homeless, the bigger the chance for them to get infected, which means another turmoil for the country.

The second priority of the president is to have an unemployment benefit for each qualified out-of-work American to help them get their daily basic needs like food.
