Anthony Davis has finally got his first championship ring with the Los Angeles Lakers and there is no chance that he will leave the Lakers this off-season. In fact, the NBA star said that he wants to have more championship rings with Lebron James.

During the post-press game conference, Davis said that he has no idea if he will test free agency this off-season, but he made it very clear that he enjoys playing along with Lebron James. For now, he will stay in Lakers but there might be some changes in his contract with the team.

Shams Charania posted on his Twitter account and wrote that Davis will remain with the Lakers. However, he will opt out of his contract worth $28.7 million and become a free agent but technically he will come back. This is a way to increase his value or salary cap on the team.

This is a money move for Anthony Davis. He is expected to make $28.7 million next season as he enters his final contract with the Lakers. He might opt out of his contract and will have a new offer and probably signing a brand new deal with a higher salary cap.

However, it cannot yet be projected today as to how much that amount would be because the NBA did not yet release the maximum salary cap for the next season. There is speculation that the salary cap might decrease due to the global pandemic.

These might how the new contract of Anthony Davis will look like next season. This forecast is according to a published article in FORTHEWIN:

1. Full Five-Year Max Deal

ESPN's Bobby Parks said that Davis can sign a full-five year deal worth $189.9 million. That is a long commitment for Anthony Davis and that means that he will be dedicating his prime to the team.

At the time he will finish his contract, he will be at the age of 31 but he could still have a high value if he continues to improve and will not show any signs of slowing down.

2. 2 + 1 Contract

Anthony Davis can negotiate for a three-year deal contract and having his third year with a player option. Parks has a strong feeling that this might be the contract that Davis will have.

If ever that Davis will have the 2 + 1 contract, this deal would bring Davis 10 years of service in the NBA. This means that he will be qualified for a 35 percent max contract. By 2022, Davis's maximum deal will be $253.75 million over five years using the $125 million cap projection.

3. 1 + 1 Contract

This is the deal that Lebron James did when he was in Cleveland Cavaliers and the same contract that Kevin Durant used with the Golden State Warriors.

Davis can use the same contract but he has to make himself one of the most powerful players in just one year or one season. If he does, Davis could increase his value a year after and might be offered a higher amount.
