Trump Says Kamala Harris Must Never Become President
President Donald Trump insisted Tuesday that Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris should not be the first female president of the United States.
Trump said these comments about Harris during a rally in Lansing Michigan, sparking chants calling for his daughter Ivanka Trump to take the job instead.
According to a Breitbart report, Trump made a claim that Harris will take over the presidency if Biden was elected in the coming elections.
"If he gets elected, three weeks into his presidency, they'll say, 'Kamala are you ready? Let's go," he said.
Trump also described Harris as radically liberal, adding that the 56-year-old senator makes Senator Bernia Sanders "look like a serious conservative."
He urged his supporters to come out strong during Election Day to prevent the swap he says will happen.
Trump Brings Up 25th Amendment
Trump claimed that talks rising on the 25th Amendment could also be part of the movement to put Harris into office.
He was referring to the form of legislation introduced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Jamie Raskin that will create a commission to evaluate a president's removal.
For Trump, Biden is also serving as a gateway for the left to get Harris into the White House. Harris is considered to be a more liberal candidate than Biden.
"Joe Biden-Kamala do you like her? You like her to be your first female president?" Trump said.
The question was met with shouts of "socialist" and boos from the crowd.
He told his supporters they should not "let it happen."
"This will not be the first woman president," he said, prompting the shouts get Ivanka into office.
Putting Harris as the vice presidential running mate on a major presidential party ticket made her the third one to do so.
She was behind two others in losing campaigns: Geraldine Ferraro who was on Walter Mondal's 1984 ticket against Ronald Reagan and Sarah Palin was John McCain's VP pick against Barack Obama in 2008.
If Harris became the vice president, she won't just be the first woman on the job. She will also be the first Black woman and first person of Indian descent to take the office in U.S. history.
Trump Dismisses Plans for Ivanka Presidency
As for the chants for Ivanka to run for president, the president simply guffawed at the idea. He said his daughter will be very happy taking care of her children at home, said Newsweek.
According to The Independent, the 38-year-old presidential daughter insisted before that she is focused on supporting her father in the White House and on his campaign.
She said she does not have any plans to run for president or any other political office in the future. In a CBS News report last year, she said campaigning was just "not part of my portfolio."
Trump appreciated the initiative from his daughter to campaign. "You know, Ivanka, you know, she's great. She's out campaigning today, doing really well," he said.
Ivanka was holding a rally in Sarasota, Florida on Tuesday.
She tweeted a photo of the crowing waiting to greet her, captioning it with, "On my way! Love you Sarasota!"
