A presidential candidate needs to gain the support of the largest minority group in the country, the Latino community, to improve his standing.

According to the Pew Research Center, around 32 million Latinos are eligible to vote in this year's election. Their numbers could really help a presidential candidate to win.

The NBC News or Marist Poll conducted a survey in late August and early September to determine who between Trump and former vice president Joe Biden has the support of the Latino voters in Florida.

The poll revealed that while the two candidates tied among the state's overall voters, 50 percent of Latino voters will support Trump, while only 46 percent will support Biden in the upcoming election.

It can be recalled in a previous report of Latin Post that Latino voters across the country are more likely to support Trump in the upcoming election. Specifically, Cuban-American and Latino evangelicals will support him because of his administration's effort to fight socialism.

Florida is a critical state in the upcoming election because of its growing population. According to a published report in The New York Times, around 950 people moved to the state since 2010.

The state has increased its population from 18.8 million residents in 2010 to 21.48 million residents in 2019. The published article also asserted that there is much growth coming from racial minorities.

Of more than 21 million residents, around 26 percent are Hispanics, 17 percent are African-Americans, three percent are Asians, while 53 percent are non-Hispanic white.

Trump has already gained support from the Latino community since he took his oath as a President in 2016.

During his first year in office, his administration made different efforts toward Cuban-American voters, South and Central American immigrants, Latino evangelical, and Black voters. Since then, Trump became popular among the minority group.

There are many reasons why Trump had the support of the Latino community, not only in Florida but also across the country. Trump was one of the country's most influential and famous businessmen, and he has frequently touted his economic record in appealing to Latino voters.

President Donald Trump has severely criticized Joe Biden's economic and health care proposals, and he also alleged the Democratic party of supporting socialism, which the Cubans dislike. It was one of the main reasons why they left Cuba - to escape the Fidel-Castro socialist government.

According to a published article in Business Insider, a poll from the Florida International University showed that Trump had gained stronger support from the Latino community this year.

The survey released this month showed how Latinos support Trump, with around 59 percent of Cuban-Americans supporting him. It is higher compared to the 25 percent of Biden.

One of the factors seen why Trump gained significant support from the community is his response to the Cuban-Americans' economic and healthcare issues.
