New Mexico Woman Kills Grandfather, Hides Body in a Tool Chest
A New Mexico Woman was suspected of killing her grandfather. She then tried to cover up her crime by hiding the remains of the old man in a tool chest on a property in Fort Sumner.
A woman from New New Mexico was alleged of killing her own grandfather. Officials said that the woman fed her grandfather with dangerous drugs like Xanax and Ambien, according to Fox News.
New Mexico State Police identified the woman as 27-year-old Candy Jo Webb. The suspect was was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday by U.S. Marshals. She was arrested three weeks after the body of her grandfather was found.
The drugs that Webb fed her grandfather are very lethal especially when taken at the same time. According to experts, these drugs slow down the central nervous system and can be a potential cause of death.
Moreover, Dr. Armon Neel said that if these two drugs are taken at the same time, this stops the heart and lungs from working.
State Police released a statement which reads: "Webb was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the local detention center in Florida where she will await extradition to New Mexico."
It is not yet known when the woman will be extradited to New Mexico.

Suspect hid the body in tool chest
The old man was identified as AJ Harden, 82 years old and his body was found on October 15. His remains were hidden in a tool chest in an attempt to cover up the crime
Yet no matter how hard Webb tried to conceal it, Harden's body was found three weeks after. Police officials believed that the woman gave a lethal dose to the old man.
"Webb drove the tool chest to 1976 Shenandoah Drive in Fort Sumner where she discarded the body," Brenda Moyer, owner of the property, said during an interview on October 19.
She rented the property for her son, who started dating Candy Jo Webb, according to a published report in the Eastern New Mexico. However, she did not uncover the body until three weeks later when she inspected the property.
Webb claimed and spoke to the police that she took the old man to a nursing home in Texas six months ago. She also added that she has not spoken with her grandfather since then. Webb provided the name of the nursing home but police authorities later found out that the facility did not exist.
Moreover, police authorities found out during the investigation that the New Mexico Woman has been traveling across the country since the disappearance or death of her grandfather.
According to authorities, Webb is purposely trying to get away from the place to avoid suspicion about her grandfather's death. Until now, they are still trying to figure out the possible motive behind the crime.
After she was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida, the suspect is now facing charges related to first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in relation to the death of the old man.
Both the suspect and the old man lived from the town of Fort Sumner that has 1,000 residents in east-central New Mexico.
