Group C is viewed by many as inferior group compared to others. This group consists of the Ivory Coast, Japan, Columbia and Greece. A lot of people think this will be a cake walk for Columbia, but Japan and Ivory Coast are here to prove the skeptics wrong.

Japan and Ivory Coast is a very interesting matchup because they have no rivalry and have only played each other three times. Chilean referee Enrique Osses is the head official for this game.

Japan

The Japanese have never had the most success at the World Cup. As a matter of fact, they were invisible from the tournament from 1930-1994. But since 1998, the Japanese have qualified all five times and twice made it to the round of 16. With India and China struggling, Japan is Asia's best hope at winning it all.

Japan is ranked No. 46 in the world, and their head coach is Italian born Alberto Zaccheroni. Zaccheroni has selected one of the youngest rosters in the Cup and is going with just four starting middle fielders. Yasuhito Endō leads the middle.

The offense of Japan is not filled with superstars but has a lot of young players on the field. Japan will be starting eight forwards, and only one of them is over the age of 30, Yoshito Ōkubo. Japan may be one of the most entertaining teams to watch. Going with so few middle fielders may be a risk for Japan's defense.

Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast is one of the five African nations playing at this year's World Cup. The others are Cameroon, Ghana, Algeria and Nigeria. Ivory is currently ranked No. 23 overall in the world, and they are led by French coach Sabri Lamouchi. Ivory Coast is a lottery pick by many this year and is being underrated

Similar to Japan, Ivory Coast is loaded with young talent. Ivory Coast's backbone is with their defense, and it is powered by Didier Zokora and Kolo Touré. Touré most recently played for Liverpool F.C. and is looking to make a name for himself and his country on the biggest stage.

Didier Drogba is directing the offense and was named team captain. The striker most recently played for Galatasaray, in Turkey.

This should be a very entertaining game as we watch an offensive oriented team verse a defensive oriented team.
