2020 is a tough year for everyone. It was a year full of grief and sadness caused by the global pandemic.

Many lost their loved ones, homes, jobs, and more. But a new year symbolizes a restart and shifting one's perception of life.

Another new year has come and this symbolizes a new beginning for everyone. This year gives us hope and feels like giving us another chance to live.

To have a new beginning has a more sentiment today because of what transpired or happened in the previous year.

Here are some tips that will help you welcome positivity into your life and make your 2021 a success, according to a recently published article in Health Shots:

1. Be Grateful

The year 2020 has taught us many lessons in life. It was a tough and difficult year for everyone but it also helped us to have different realizations in life. Due to the global pandemic, most of us spent most of our time with our family while we stayed at home.

Spending time with our loved ones is something that we almost forgot before the pandemic. But since the pandemic began, it made us realized that we have to spend time with people we love and who love us the most.

Despite the pandemic, still, be grateful for what you have and do not dwell on your misgivings.

2. Go for a Mindful Walk

Our routine has shifted from traditional in-person to the use of technology. Meetings, classes, and other activities are now becoming virtual. This becomes one of the reasons why many got depressed and triggered their anxiety for spending too much time on screen.

This year, try to have a walk outside, reflect, and relax. Have a break from all those devices and gadgets. Doing this in the month of January will also give you a sense of responsibility towards your mental and physical health.

3. Write a Letter to Yourself

Can you still remember your childhood days when you were required by your teacher to write a letter to yourself 10 years from that day?

If the same question will be asked to you, what achievements and milestones in your life you want to achieve this year?

Write a letter to yourself and revisit this letter in the middle of 2021 to keep you motivated and reminded that there is something that you need to achieve this year. Just make your goals specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound.

4. Take-Out "Me Days"

Always have time for yourself. Spend at least one day every month to give time to yourself. Make this a part of your calendar. This will give you ease from your busy life and will let you have self-care.

5. Act of Kindness

One of the best ways to start this year is to show an act of kindness by giving something to those who are in need.

Donate clothes or something you have that you do not need anymore. This might have no value to you but this could have a big impact on other persons.
