Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindled their romance after nearly two decades apart, and they are now enjoying their time together again.

The couple, known as "Bennifer," has reunited in April last year. The word "Bennifer" might evoke memories of frosted lip gloss and butterfly clips, but everything comes back in style at some point.

According to Us Weekly, Affleck has been getting picked up in a white SUV that takes him to Lopez's Los Angeles home as they revive their romance. And it is understandable why they kept their hangouts on the down-low when remembering their high-profile romance.

The Start of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's Romance

The two initially met on the set of "Gigli" in 2002, where they played gangsters who fall in love. The film flopped at the box office, with critics claiming that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez lacked chemistry.

But off-screen, it was a different story. Lopez divorced her second husband, Cris Judd, in June 2002, and soon after, she went public with the "Good Will Hunting" star.

By November, the "On The Floor" singer had a new ring on her finger. Affleck proposed with a six-carat pink diamond ring that had tiny white diamonds on the sides, and it caught plenty of media attention.

As Lopez's work on her "Jenny From the Block" music video, paparazzi caught Bennifer filming in various cities throughout the fall before the footage was finally released in November. Affleck appeared in the video, and a lot of scenes showed the couple's affection for each other. 

The couple had welcomed Dateline's Pat O'Brien into their rental home in Vancouver to talk about their romance, but they would not specify when they fell in love. Lopez only said they became friends first.

Their wedding was scheduled for September 2003, but just days before they said "I do," Bennifer called off the ceremony due to "excessive media attention."

They remained together until January 2004, when they announced their official breakup. Lopez married singer-songwriter Marc Anthony months after while Affleck moved on with Jennifer Garner that year as well.

Though it did not work out, Affleck and Lopez have been kind to each other. Lopez believed the media attention majorly impacted the relationship. J.Lo also thought that "different time, different thing" contributed to the breakup, but she told PeopleTV's The Jess Cagle Interview in 2016 that "there was a genuine love" between them.

Four years later, Affleck told the New York Times that Lopez should have received an Oscar nod for her biggest hit movie "Hustlers" even in her 50s. He also claimed to have communication on a regular basis with Lopez and had great respect for her.

The Comeback of the Bennifer Relationship

Ben Affleck was spotted in a white SUV in April 2021, supposedly to visit Jennifer Lopez. That month, Affleck has praised Lopez in InStyle as "the hardest-working person" he has come across in the business.

After sparking romance speculation, a source told Us Weekly that the exes have "always loved each other" and Lopez's friends "won't be surprised if they end up together." Elle reported that the duo also had a "heart-to-heart" following their splits from Alex Rodriguez and Ana de Armas.

As their relationship continued to heat up, the pair were "fully committed" to start a future together - and planned "on moving in together very soon." The same month, it was revealed that Affleck and Lopez had been house hunting in Beverly Hills and Bel Air.

The couple made their subtle debut on Instagram when Leah Remini posted a video of them in July. The singer eventually shared a photo of her and Affleck kissing on IG during her 52nd birthday celebration.

In September 2021, the duo marked their first red carpet appearance in the premiere of Ben Affleck's movie "The Last Duel" at the Venice International Film Festival. The year 2013 was their last red carpet outing together.

And last February 13, the twosome attended Super Bowl LVI in California, where they danced in the crowd.
