Celtics vs Nets Game 1: Kyrie Irving Faces $50K Fines Over Interactions With Boston Fans
Nets star Kyrie Irving was fined thousands of dollars on Tuesday after he flipped his middle finger to Celtics fans during the first game of their playoffs over the weekend.
According to NBA, the fines were made after the Nets guard made "obscene gestures" on the playing court and directed profane language at the spectator stands, per TMZ Sports.
The $50,000 fine is the maximum amount allowed to be vested on Irving after what he did during the Celtics and Nets' game one, SB Nation noted.
Reports claimed that the fines were rooted in four different incidents during the weekend's match where Irving interacted with the Celtics fans.
One was when Kyrie was caught on camera giving the middle finger to the crowd after hitting a tough fadeaway jump shot over Jaylen Brown.
SBA Nation shared that the Nets guard also mimicked crying faces as a way to mock the Celtics fans behind him who were seining taunts his way.

Finally, Irving was reportedly caught on camera responding to a fan taunt in which he said "s*** my d***."
It was not the first time that Irving was fined over his response to the fans.
Earlier this year Kyrie was hit with a $25,000 fine after he clapped back at a fan in Cleveland who was giving him a hard time, TMZ Sports reported.
Nets' Kyrie Irving Opens Up About His Reaction to Celtics Fans
After the game one between the Celtics and Nets, Irving explained why he flipped over the fans who were taunting him during the game.
"I'mma have the same energy for them... And it's not every fan, I don't wanna attack every fan, every Boston fan," Irving underscored, per Sports Illustrated.
Irving also added that when the fans start yelling bad words at him, there is just so much that he can take. The Nets guard also added that he will not be "docile" and "humble" just like how athletes should be when it comes to those scenarios.
"I'mma look at them straight in the eyes and see if they're really 'bout it. Most of the time they're not," Kyrie highlighted.
Nets Star Kevin Durant Says Celtics Fans Hate Towards Kyrie Irving 'Came From Love'
On Tuesday, Kevin Durant also commented on the reaction between the Celtics fans and Kyrie Irving.

Durant noted in an interview that NBA crowds in the playoffs pick at players who played for their team recently, per SB Nation.
Durant then said that the Celtics fans' reaction towards Irving came from love.
Durant also underscored that the fans once cheered and bought Irving's merchandise, that is why a part of them was gone when Irving departed from the Celtics.
Kevin Durant then further explained that what Irving experiences is an emotional attachment of the Celtics fans to professional sports.
