Michigan Man Kills Girlfriend and Stepfather, Stabs Mom, and Throws His Baby out of Window After Release on Bond
A Michigan man killed his girlfriend and his stepfather and stabbed his mother before dropping his baby out of a window days after he was released on bond.
According to Crime Online, Jonathan Welch, 23, who was initially detained for torturing his girlfriend, was released on Friday after his mom secured a bail bond.
A judge reportedly issued a $100,00 bond, and his mom was able to pay $10,000 or 10 percent to get her son out of jail. Welch was also released under the condition that he wears a GPS monitoring device.
But on Sunday night, police in Harper Woods, Michigan, were dispatched to his mom's home, where a caller reported that someone was being held inside the house.
Responding officers determined that Welch had barricaded himself inside the home that started at around 8:14 p.m. Sunday and stretched until early Monday morning, Click on Detroit reported.
Welch's 42-year-old mother, who had been stabbed with a butcher's knife, was able to free herself and ran into a neighbor's home.
Neighbor Ruth Tabone told the outlet that she saw Welch's mom collapsed, with the knife still in her back, prompting her to help her. The mom was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries.
Neighbors said they also saw the Michigan man drop a baby from the window. Officers later found Welch's one-year-old son in the home's backyard. The child was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities said Welch fired multiple gunshots at police officers throughout the standoff and started a fire inside the house before appearing in the front doorway.
Fire crews from Grosse Pointe Woods extinguished the flames, and police discovered the bodies of Welch's girlfriend, Zlayiah Frazier, 22, and his stepfather, Robert Bray Jr., 70, inside the home.
Police said Frazier was also the mother of Welch's son. Authorities noted that both Frazier and Bray had been killed by blunt force trauma.

Sister of Michigan Man's Girlfriend Blames the 'System' for Her Death
Zlayiah Frazier's sister, Breonna, previously blamed the "system" that let Jonathan Welch get out of prison on bond. He said the system was "definitely broken."
"They let him out of jail. He killed my sister. He killed my sister... They should've never let him out of prison... I don't have nothing else to say," Breonna noted.
Judge Kenneth King of the 36th District Court told Click on Detroit that this was "the court's worst nightmare" and the "worst possible scenario that could happen."
King said the witness was killed after the defendant was placed on bond and given the benefit of being placed on bond with house arrest. Welch has been ordered to live at his mother's house.
The Michigan man is now facing charges of two counts of first-degree murder, four counts of assault with intent to murder, seven counts of felonious assault, one count of second-degree arson, and six felony firearm violations. This time Welch has no bond.
Michigan Man Tortured His Girlfriend
On June 2, Jonathan Welch allegedly attacked his girlfriend. The Michigan man reportedly strangled the woman with an extension cord, poured gasoline on her, burned her using a scalding spatula, and sexually assaulted her with a pole.
Welch was arrested, and he was charged with seven crimes, including torture, criminal sexual assault, and assault.
