Stimulus Check Update: Up to $250 Payments Expected in New Mexico, 3 Other States Due for Extra Cash
Stimulus check update in several states has been announced and is overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Some states are not waiting for a signal from Washington, D.C. and are instead taking a step ahead to make the stimulus check payments available to their residents.
MARCA News reported that financial assistance will be coming for residents in four different U.S. states to help people cope with the rising costs of goods due to inflation.
The stimulus check payments coming from the U.S. four states will start on July 18. These states are Indiana, Chicago, Illinois, New Mexico, and Maine.
More than 3,500 families who are part of the city's UBI program in Chicago are set to receive their stimulus check payments this week.
The payments are reportedly worth $500 per month and are sent throughout the year.

Stimulus Check New Mexico
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham with the New Mexico Legislature in 2022 has passed multiple tax rebates for New Mexico residents, including economic relief payments.
To receive the economic relief payments, New Mexico residents are not required to file taxes, according to a Tax & Revenue New Mexico site.
The rebates will be sent automatically to eligible taxpayers who have filed a 2021 Personal Income Tax.
Many residents are seeing a check worth $250 if they are single and make less than $75,000 while married joint couples making less than $150,000 per year will receive a payment of $500.
For relief payments in Mexico, households of married couples or single individuals with one or more dependents will receive $1,000.
Meanwhile, households for single individuals without dependents will receive $500.
The relief payments were approved during the Special Session of the New Mexico Legislature in 2023.
It is limited to a total of $20 million appropriated by the legislature. Applications for the relief payments will be available through to the New Mexico Human Services Department starting May 2, 2022.
It was scheduled to be issued on Jul. 3, 2022.
Stimulus Check Payments
U.S. President Joe Biden called for a three-month gas tax holiday in June. The measure would remove the surcharge that the federal government has imposed on a gallon of gasoline.
Several states had implemented their own measures to provide some kind of relief to the rising prices of gas.
In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced a plan to distribute payments of up to $1,050 for millions of Californians.
The approved payment is reported to cushion the price of gas. California has the highest gas prices in the nation, costing $6.30 on average, as reported by Go Banking Rates.
The budget will be from California's $97 billion budget surplus to make the relief payments possible.
Colorado residents are also eyeing relief payments amounting to $400 or $800. The amount they will receive will be based on their filing status.
Officials announced in June that single filers will receive $750 while joint filers are seen to be given $1,500, with payments to be distributed in August.
