Bad Bunny is not only taking over music and film but also the hospitality and culinary industry with his new Japanese-inspired steakhouse in Miami. Gekko, which literally meant "moonlight" in Japanese, opened on Thursday night.
Bad Bunny sought the help of prominent restauranteur David Grutman of Groot Hospitality to be his partner for the new business.
According to Food & Wine, Grutman was the person behind Miami's best dining hotspots, including Strawberry Moon, a restaurant he is working with music producer Pharell Williams. Although he was born in Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny likened Florida because of its similarity to his home country.
"The culture reminds me of home. Miami is a city where I can relax. I love to go out to eat, see the ocean -- it's just a great city," the Puerto Rican rapper noted.
On its opening night, Bad Bunny brought the glitz and press down south as he set up a star-studded evening for his high-profile guests.

The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer has quite a reputation in the music industry nowadays. After ruling the Billboard 200 charts for more than seven weeks before Beyonce's "Rennaisance" lynched him, Bad Bunny rode on the buzz with Gekko's opening night.
One-third of the Jonas Brothers were present on Gekko's opening night as Joe Jonas was invited along with her wife, "Game of Thrones" superstar Sophie Turner, The Miami Herald reported.
DJ Khaled and Young Money leader Lil Wayne were also spotted at the venue, while Karol G was seen jumping from one table to another.
Controversial YouTube vlogger Jake Paul was also in attendance, along with "The Untouchables" star Andy Garcia and model Candice Swanepoel. Michael Bay and Devon Becker were also among the many celebrities who reportedly attended the event.
The Beckhams are also in the building, as David Beckham was seen chitchatting with baseball exec Derek Jeter. Victoria Beckham is with her three other children, except Brooklyn Beckham.
Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz, who was reportedly feuding with her mother-in-law, was also not present on the star-studded opening night.
But before the party started, Bad Bunny may have shed hundreds of thousands already as a Lamborghini bumped into his $3 million Bugatti because of the uncontrollable traffic in the area. Bad Bunny's Gekko is located in Miami's Brickell neighborhood at 8 SE 8th Street.
