Queen Elizabeth II Cause of Death: Here's the Truth About the Monarch's Shocking Demise
The National Records of Scotland has released the document that tells Queen Elizabeth II's cause of death Thursday. According to the paper, the queen died of old age.
Princess Anne, the queen's daughter, is listed as the informant about her mother's death. Anne said in a statement that she was fortunate to be with her mother for the last 24 hours of her life.
Queen Elizabeth II's age was 96, according to a statement issued by Buckingham Palace. The statement read, "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon," People noted.

Queen Elizabeth II Death Certificate Details
Aside from Queen Elizabeth II's cause of death, her death certificate reveals some information unknown to some people who live in other countries.
According to Today, the late Queen's name is listed as "Elizabeth Alexandra Mary" with the surname "Windsor." Her occupation reads, "Her Majesty The Queen." The Queen's parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, are also listed on her death certificate.
The document says that the Queen died on September 8, 2022, at 3:10 p.m. at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where she stayed for the late summer. Windsor Castle is listed as her "usual residence," where she spent the rest of her last years, beginning in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Queen Elizabeth II's Final Years
According to Buckingham Palace, the queen spent one night in a hospital in late October 2021 for "preliminary investigations," after which she returned to Windsor Castle and resumed her duties.
A few weeks later, on November 14, Buckingham Palace issued a statement explaining that the Queen had to skip the annual Remembrance Sunday service due to a back injury.
Then, the queen tested positive for COVID-19 in February 2022, but the palace claims that she only experienced "mild cold-like symptoms" because of the virus.
She celebrated her 96th birthday in April at her Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Two months later, she celebrated her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne. However, the Queen just attended three events of the four-day celebration due to "some discomfort", Buckingham Palace said.
Just two days before she passed away, on September 6, the Queen met Liz Truss, the country's new prime minister, in person at Balmoral Castle. It was her last public appearance with an in-person audience.
King Charles III, Queen Elizabeth II's eldest child who succeeded to the throne after her death, and Anne were present with the Queen during her final hours.
Later, more members of the queen's family, including her grandsons, Princes William and Harry and her sons Princes Andrew and Edward, went to Balmoral.
ABC News reported that Anne escorted her mother's coffin from Balmoral Castle to St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, where the Queen is buried.
During the ten days of mourning, hundreds of thousands of people said goodbye to her in Scotland and London. On September 19, her funeral and burial occurred at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Queen Elizabeth II was the longest of any monarch in British history, reigning for 70 years.
