A California man wearing a mask resembling the face of creepy clown Pennywise from the movie "It" was arrested on Tuesday in Victorville.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office, Joel Hernandez, 22, was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman and robbed another while wearing the Pennywise clown mask.

Police said Hernandez was apprehended after the second attack, where he allegedly snatched $500 cash from a woman near an ATM on Amargosa Road, the Daily Star reported.

The woman called 911 at about 5:15 p.m. and reported that a man wearing a Pennywise clown mask and a red sweatshirt stole her cash.

Matching the description given by the victim, the cops spotted the Hispanic male as they drove towards the scene. According to Yahoo, police found the woman's money in Hernandez's backpack.

When investigators looked further into the incident, they learned that another woman called 911 minutes before the robbery, Fox News reported.

According to the woman, she had been sexually assaulted by a man wearing a white clown mask and a red sweatshirt.

She said the California man groped her in a grocery store parking lot about one mile away from the bank. The KTLA reported that both women were in their 50s.

Joel Hernandez, who was charged with robbery and sexual battery, was booked at the High Desert Detention Center.

The New York Post reported that his bail had been set at $200,000.

Police are asking anyone with information about Hernandez to contact the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911 or Sheriff's Dispatch at (760) 956-5001.

Investigators believe there may be other victims who have not come forward.

'It' Movie That Features Pennywise Is One of the Highest-Grossing Horror Movie Franchises

The story behind Pennywise, the Dancing Clown, came from author Stephen King's mind.

"It" is a 1986 horror novel by King that was adapted into a television mini-series in 1990, followed by a two-film remake in 2017 and 2019.

According to Movie Web, the movies "It" and "It: Chapter Two" were so popular that they were able to debut on a list full of multiple-film franchises.

The two films reportedly grossed more than $1 billion combined at the global box office.

In the franchise, Pennywise returns to terrorize Derry, Maine, every 27 years.

In "It," the creepy clown fights against a group of outcast kids who have joined forces to make him go back into hiding for another 27 years.

In "It: Chapter Two," the group returns to Derry to figure out how to stop Pennywise once and for all.

Even though Pennywise is popular, it seems his story is over right now.

However, HBO Max is reportedly developing a prequel series to the "It" film franchise, which means we might see the evil dancing clown again soon.
