Marc Anthony Virtual Concert Streamer Maestro Sued After Fans Get Refunds for Staring at Blank Screen
A legal battle between Marc Anthony's promoter and the streaming service Maestro emerged after the singer's failed worldwide virtual concert.
According to TMZ, Loud and Live, the virtual event's promoter, has sued Maestro for not fulfilling its obligations in the contract. The outlet said the virtual event spectacularly crashed and burned.
In the court documents obtained by TMZ, Loud and Live claimed it approached Maestro about live streaming a concert of Marc Anthony to a global audience during the COVID pandemic.
The two parties then signed a contract after Maestro assured Loud and Live that it could handle a stream with over 100,000 people.
But as TMZ also reported, the live stream for Marc Anthony's concert in April 2021 was a disaster, with fans worldwide complaining about staring at a blank screen for hours until the Puerto Rican singer eventually pulled the plug.

Loud and Live Gives Refunds to Marc Anthony Fans Who Watched the Virtual Concert
The lawsuit said Loud and Live claimed that over 100,000 fans of Marc Anthony paid from $25 to $40 for the virtual concert, but only for Maestro's streaming platform to completely break down.
The following day, the 90-minute virtual concert, which was performed live and recorded, was released for free on his YouTube account, and Loud and Live noted that it started issuing refunds. Loud and Live blasted Maestro for misrepresenting its technological capabilities.
The show's promoter is suing Maestro for the damages, claiming it suffered a big financial loss after paying Marc Anthony and Maestro up-front fees and promoting and financially backing the virtual concert before losing out on the streaming sales.
"We believe the claims are without merit, and we intend to contest them vigorously," Maestro told TMZ.
Marc Anthony and Ariana Debose Performed at Maestro Cares 9th Annual Gala
The lawsuit came days after Marc Anthony's Maestro Cares Foundation celebrated its 9th annual gala. According to Hola, the December 6 event at Cipriani 55 in New York City was star-studded, and Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose was among the performers.
Anthony and DeBose sang together onstage as they performed a rendition of The Eagles' "Hotel California." Anthony also performed some of his biggest hits. The Puerto Rican singer and his fiancee, Nadia Ferreira, served as hosts.
The gala honored some special guests, including Gloria and Emilio Estefan and former baseball pitcher Mariano Rivera. J Balvin and Carlos Ponce were also among the guests, with some of them serving as the evening's presenters.
