Ghislaine Maxwell Thrown Into Solitary Confinement After Jailhouse Interview
Ghislaine Maxwell reportedly stayed in solitary confinement for 48 hours after prison officials accused the former socialite of profiting from her media interview.
According to Daily Mail, Maxwell appeared on the British show "TalkTV" last month in a series of taped video and audio calls in which she discussed her life inside the prison and tried to pin the blame on her ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, for what has happened to her.
Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) Tallahassee scrutinized the footage as inmates are only allowed video visits from family, friends, and lawyers, who are closely vetted.
Sources told the Daily Mail that higher-ups at the low-security Florida prison started a probe to determine whether Maxwell had violated the terms of her 20-year federal sex-trafficking sentence by selling the side of her story to a journalist.
Maxwell argued that she was innocent but was still handcuffed and whisked away to the Special Housing Unit (SHU) of FCI Tallahassee, which is a "prison within a prison" comprised of tiny cells.
The tiny spaces are used for locking up inmates for 23 hours at a time, and they are given food through slits in the door. A source told the outlet that Maxwell was "just minding her own business" when officials "handcuffed" her.
"She got really upset, she was crying, she was yelling that she hadn't received any money, but nobody saw her again for three days," the insider noted.

Ghislaine Maxwell Inside Solitary Confinement
The source said the SHU is not a nice place as "it's like a little box" with no contact from anyone, and prisoners are being locked up there if they are suicidal, fail a drug test, or get in a fight.
Ghislaine Maxwell reportedly stayed in solitary confinement for 48 hours instead of the usual two weeks, as there was no evidence that she was guilty of profiting from her media interviews.
The interview was released on January 23, with Maxwell complaining about the 6 a.m. start of her day and the prison meal made of tofu and beans.
TalkTV, which interviewed Maxwell, said she was not paid for it. The British socialite has refused to apologize to Jeffrey Epstein's victims and the women who feel betrayed by her, Daily Mirror reported.
Instead, Maxwell noted that the victims should redirect their feelings toward the authorities who failed to prevent Epstein from committing his crimes.
Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein
Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender. He died in a New York jail in 2019, while Ghislaine Maxwell remains incarcerated for sex trafficking charges.
The Associated Press reported that the investigators involved in the case concluded that Epstein killed himself. On the other hand, Maxwell was found guilty of sex trafficking in her Manhattan federal court trial in December 2021.
She was charged for her involvement with Epstein's abuse of teenage girls, with some of the victims being as young as 14 years old. Maxwell sought to have her conviction overturned, and in April last year, a U.S. Circuit Court judge partially granted that request.
