Shakira and Bizarrap recently appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to perform her breakup song, "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53."

After the fantastic performance, the Colombian pop star and the Argentine DJ and record producer also sat down with host Fallon for an interview.

According to Hollywood Life, Shakira opened up to Fallon about her ex, Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique.

She said, "I've had a very rough year after my separation, and writing this song has been so important to me," adding that singing about what she really feels was a "healthy way to channel my emotions."

She further noted that she felt more connected with her fans through this song, saying, "I feel that after we put out this song, I not only felt like I had fans but a sisterhood of women who have been through the same things, who think the way I think, feel the way I feel and had to put up with so much crap, the way I had to."

As for how people reacted to their viral diss track, Shakira noted that she found it unbelievable, saying, "I think that people really connect with music when it's real and it's genuine, it comes from a real place. The thing with this song is that it has become like an anthem for so many women out there."

Shakira Also Talks About Her Kids and Collaborating With Bizarrap

During her "The Tonight Show" interview, the Colombian music icon told Jimmy Fallon that her 9-year-old son, Milan, was a huge fan of Bizarrap. She said it was his son who insisted that she collaborates with the Spain-based producer and DJ.

"He has a very good ear, very good taste," said Shakira about her son Milan, whom she shares with Gerard Pique.

After the suggestion, Shakira revealed that the boy even sent a voice note to her manager, saying, "You got to put my mom together with Bizarrap on a song because they're gonna be number one." That resulted in that viral hit song which has now become the most-viewed Spanish-language song in YouTube history.

As for Bizarrap, the Entertainment Tonight reported that the Argentinian DJ told Fallon that he had been thinking about collaborating with Shakira for a while. However, he also admitted that he had no clue how to connect with her.

Bizarrap found the courage to send Shakira a DM after his collaboration with Spanish sensation Quevedo went viral. Shakira responded a couple of months later, and the rest is history.
