Shakira Crying: Colombian Music Icon Seen in Tears While Shopping in New York
Shakira may still not be over her very ugly breakup with Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique. The Colombian singer was seen shopping with her two kids inside the M&Ms Store in New York. However, the paparazzi managed to snap a few photos of her in tears.
It was part of the "Hips Don't Lie" singer's busy week in New York, which included watching an NHL game, as well as performing on the "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" with Argentinian DJ, Bizarrap, whom she collaborated with for her hit diss track against Gerard Pique, "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53."
Shakira was out shopping with Sasha and Milan, whom she shares with Pique, and the two boys were seen happily picking out candy and stuffed animals the world-famous candy store. However, their mother did not look as happy as she was photographed tearing up while talking to a woman.
Shakira tried to cover herself with a cap but photographers managed to capture some tears in her eyes. Marca noted that she is going through a tough time since breaking up with the former Manchester United and FC Barcelona defender.
The images have sparked concern among her fans. While she spoke about standing up for women during her "Tonight Show" interview, it seems that not all is well.
Shakira May Be Filing a Lawsuit Against Collaborator Karol G's Ex, Anuel AA
Before her whirlwind New York trip, Shakira was collaborating with fellow Colombian singer, Karol G, who, like her collaboration with Bizarrap, was a diss track against her ex. In the song, Shakira launched barbs against Gerard Pique, while Karol G also launched her own nasty verses against her ex, Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA.

The song is titled "TQG" or "Te Quedo Grande," with the two women venting about their exes. However, Anuel AA had a much louder response than Pique, as he released his own digs at not just Karol G, but Shakira as well, according to Marca.
Reports are saying that she is now considering suing the Puerto Rican, as he used her image without her consent as he posed next to an image of her for the song. However, there is still no word whether this is moving forward.
The Rise of the Petty Queen Era
Shakira's singing about her ex in a new hit song has resulted in a huge revival in her career. She has made a ton of money by airing out her resentment through her songs, and together with singer Lana del Rey, Mama Mia has noted that this has given rise to a new ear in music called the "Petty Queen Era."
While other stars like Taylor Swift have made a career of singing about her various exes, many consider Shakira's to be extra spicy when it comes to digs about her ex's infidelity.
As for Lana del Ray, she is releasing a new album titled "Did You Know There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard" later this month, and she promoted the album while also taking a dig at her ex, former police officer Sean Larkin. She posted a photo on her "secret" Instagram page with the caption, "There's only one [billboard] and it's in Tulsa," and added in a comment, "It's. Personal."
Larkin starred on the reality show LIVE PD, and he lives in Tulsa, which was where del Ray took the photo. Many said this was a dig at Larkin and the billboard has now become a landmark of pettiness.
