MAGA Catfight: Marjorie Taylor Greene Warns Donald Trump Against Hiring 'Liar' Laura Loomer
Two of the most prominent MAGA personalities are feuding right now. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has blasted far-right activist Laura Loomer after it was reported that she might join the Trump campaign.
According to Yahoo! News, the Georgia House Republican called Loomer "mentally unstable" and a "documented liar" who "can not be trusted."
The two MAGA personalities used to praise each other publicly, but that has since changed as both women have recently been in a very public catfight.
Greene even put out a statement on Twitter condemning the possible hiring of Loomer to work on the 2024 presidential campaign of former President Donald Trump.
When Did the Beef Between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Laura Loomer Begin?
Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known for her conspiracy theories, warned the Trump campaign that Laura Loomer "loves" Nick Fuentes.
Fuentes is another far-right activist and a white supremacist who Donald Trump had a controversial dinner with at his Mar-a-Lago club along with Kanye West in November. Trump received criticisms after his dinner with him.
According to The Hill, the feud between Greene and Loomer may have had something to do with the Georgia Republican supporting Kevin McCarthy's bid for House speaker earlier this year.
Greene said Loomer, who called herself a "proud Islamophobe," attacked her for supporting McCarthy and not endorsing Loomer in her most recent congressional campaign.
Loomer was one of the many MAGA Republicans who failed to secure a House seat during last year's midterm elections.
Loomer has been very vocal in criticizing Greene, once tweeting that the Georgia congresswoman is "Benedict Arnold in drag."
Who Is Laura Loomer and Did Donald Trump Really Want Her to Join His Campaign?
According to the New York Times, Laura Loomer is an infamous anti-Muslim activist who is very public about sharing her views and even got a Twitter ban because of it.
Reports said Donald Trump recently told aides that he wanted to have Loomer on his campaign team. The former president reportedly met Loomer during his post-arrest speech last week in Mar-a-Lago as the far-right MAGA activist was in attendance.
However, several aides to the former president have warned him that hiring her would cause a massive backlash given her incendiary comments against Muslims.
Trump has also reportedly received backlash from some of his most loyal supporters. That may have forced the former president to reconsider hiring her as a high-ranking campaign official said they would no longer hire Loomer.
Loomer then told The New York Times on Friday said, "Out of respect for President Trump, I'm not going to comment on private conversations that I had with the president."
She added: "The president knows I have always been a Trump loyalist and that I'm committed to helping him win re-election in 2024. He likes me very much. And it's a shame that he's surrounded by some people that run to a publication that is notorious for attacking him in order to try to cut me at the knees instead of being loyal to President Trump and respecting their confidentiality agreements."
