Donald Trump allegedly tried to sneak in fake electors in his attempts to overturn the 2020 elections in his favor. Now, Fulton County DA Fani Willis says some of them might flip as the Georgia elections probe continues to move forward.

The Fulton County DA's Office stated that it ran new interviews with several of those Republican activists who falsely claimed to be Georgia's legitimate presidential electors. DA Fani Willis noted that these interviews were done on April 12 and April 14, and this suggested that this is an active and ongoing investigation.

According to Politico, Willis suggested in the court filing that more than one of the false electors had described potential violations of Georgia state law by another one, suggesting that they may flip on each other.

During the 2020 elections, the Democrats flipped Georgia and Joe Biden won what used to be a deep-red state. However, in his efforts to overturn the election results, Donald Trump had a secret slate of Republican electors who would not vote for Biden, the state's winner, in the electoral college, but for Trump.

Lawyer Representing Donald Trump's Fake Electors in Georgia Is an 'Ethical Mess,' Says Fani Willis

Willis also asked a judge to disqualify Kimberly Bourroughs Debrow, the lawyer who is jointly representing most of the electors.

In the court filing, Willis stated that Debrow's representation of the electors has created an "impracticable and ethical mess" and is "rife with serious ethical problems." This is in connection to her saying that some of them might flip on one another and have accused each other of crimes.

The Fulton County DA argued that Debrow's ability to represent her clients has been undermined and thus should be disqualified. However, according to Axios, Debrow pushed back in a statement, saying that Willis's claims are "baseless, false and offensive."

Debrow represents 10 of the alleged false electors, and with them potentially turning on each other, it may present a conflict of interest for the defense attorney.

According to reports, Debrow did not tell her clients of an offer of immunity from Willis in exchange for testimony about the alleged scheme to overturn Trump's election loss in Georgia.

Fake Electors Lawyer Previously Forced to Let Client Go in the Georgia Election Probe

The New York Daily News pointed out that this was not the first time that Debrow was involved in a having to let a client go in the Georgia Election Probe.

Debrow used to co-counsel 11 of the pro-Trump fake electors with Holly Pearson in a joint representation. However, Willis challenged this arrangement last fall, with Judge Robert McBurney siding with the Fulton County DA.

Judge McBurney noted in his ruling that one of these fake electors, Georgia GOP Chair David Shafer, a leading Trump defender in 2020, was "differently situated." This led to Debrow not being Shafer's lawyer anymore, with Pierson now acting as the solo counsel for the embattled GOP state official.
