Ron DeSantis is feuding with Disney over his anti-woke agenda. Now, a new rumor claims that the Florida Governor got married at Disney World, but did he though?

Snopes did a fact-check of this claim and found that the presumptive presidential candidate really did get married at Walt Disney World, and he even acknowledged it in his February 2023 memoir, "The Courage to Be Free."

DeSantis discussed it in a chapter titled, "The Magic Kingdom of Woke Corporatism," where he stated that his then-fiancé wanted to get married at Disney World. "When Casey first broached the idea of getting married at Disney World, I was surprised because I did not know people even got married there [...]. As it turned out, Disney World has a nice wedding chapel attached to the Grand Floridian, the Victorian-themed hotel close to the Magic Kingdom," he said.

DeSantis did admit in the book that he did not want any Disney characters in their wedding photos.

However, other outlets like Insider spoke with Casey DeSantis' former friends and colleagues, and they were surprised by the choice of venue as she was "not really a Disney person" but "wanted something all-inclusive and put together."

The publication also confirmed that their marriage license sats that their wedding location is listed at Lake Buena Vista, Florida, where Walt Disney World is located.

Ron DeSantis Claims Disney Lawsuit Has No Merit

The feud between the Florida governor and the state's largest employer and taxpayer has heated up thanks to a lawsuit from Disney that alleges DeSantis's actions amount to a "targeted campaign" of government retaliation.

DeSantis finally reacted to the lawsuit on Thursday, firing back at Disney, saying, "I think they filed in Tallahassee for a reason because they're trying to generate some district court decision.: He added that they are "very confident on the law."

He was at a press conference in Jerusalem while visiting Israel where he stated that the lawsuit is political and he thinks it does not have any merit, according to Axios.

However, despite saying this, his feud with Disney has had some negative ramifications for him, as several states, both blue and red, are now trying to lure Disney out of Florida, and this may cost the Sunshine State hundreds of millions of dollars.

In addition, it has also been very costly for DeSantis politically, as other Republicans, from Donald Trump to Nikki Hailey have all piled up on him over the Disney feud.

Drag Queens and Allies Protest Ron DeSantis Over Anti-Woke Policies at Florida Capitol

The root of the Disney vs. DeSantis feud has always been the "Don't Say Gay Law" and Florida's anti-woke agenda. One of the main targets of DeSantis's policies, drag queens, marched to the Florida Capitol and blasted DeSantis.

According to Newsweek, the protest was organized by Orlando-based activist and entertainer Darcel Stevens. They protested the slew of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in Florida, including the censoring of drag performances, the banning of gender-affirming health care for minors, and prohibiting transgender athletes from sports teams consistent with their gender identity.

It was dubbed the "largest drag march on Tallahassee," with protesters chanting "drag is not a crime," and "Ron DeSantis has got to go." They blasted DeSantis and pointed out his hypocrisy by saying that even though he touted individual freedoms, he is doing the opposite by banning books, gender identification, and health care access.
