Born in Moscow, Russia, Anna Kournikova is the daughter of former Soviet Greco-Roman wrestling champion, Sergei Kournikov. Sports is in her blood, as her brother, Allan, is a youth golf world champion, and her mother Alla was a former runner.

However, she was undoubtedly the biggest star in her family, as she was once considered the World #1 in Women's Tennis Doubles with the legendary Martina Hingis. She won several Grand Slam titles, including a Grand Slam Doubles win with Hingis at the Australian Open, as well as many other accolades in the sport.

However, because she was considered very attractive, she soon started dabbling in the entertainment industry, and that was where she met her soon-to-be Spanish-Filipino partner.

How Enrique Iglesias Met Partner Anna Kournikova

Both Enrique Iglesias and his partner, former Russian tennis superstar Anna Kournikova, have largely kept their relationship very private, according to The Mirror. However, how they met is widely known.

The two met on the set of a music video they did together back in 2001. It was for his hit single, "Escape," and the then-tennis superstar played his love interest in the video. Little did they know that this fictional relationship would soon become a reality.

The couple started dating sometime after they starred in the "Escape" music video, and have kept the details of their relationship private for the better part of two decades. However, the couple did come out together during the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2002.

In 2004, Kournikova was seen sporting a large pink diamond during a 2004 World Tennis Match. This soon sparked engagement rumors, though the couple is still not married to this day. Iglesias even jokes about the interest in their relationship, as he joked that he and Kournikova are divorced and he is single. His friends soon debunked this and revealed that the "Hero" singer was joking and that he and the tennis star are still together.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Kournikova herself has stated that she has no plans on getting married.

While they never did get married, around ten years into their relationship, Anna Kournikova expressed her desire to have children publicly. However, while she still does not want to get married, their relationship finally bore fruit in December 2017 when she gave birth to twins, Lucy and Nicholas.

The new family moved to Miami, with Kournikova giving birth to their third child, Mary, in January 2020. According to Hello!, all three children look like their parents.
