Ron DeSantis Gets Mocking Question from TV Host Amid Presidential Campaign

As Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues to flail in his 2024 presidential campaign, MSNBC host Jen Psaki asked him a question on everybody's minds regarding his well-being; "Are you OK?"

The former Biden administration press secretary asked this question in mocking concern amid DeSantis's struggles to catch up to former President Donald Trump who continues to top the polls despite all his legal troubles, from his classified documents scandal to his rape case and the January 6 coup.

"So lately as I've been watching the way Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is running his presidential campaign, there is a question that has been running through my mind: Are you OK, Governor? I mean, for real, are you good?" asked Psaki on her MSNBC show. "It's OK if you don't actually want to run for president. It's completely OK."

Psaki then took aim at the Florida governor's overspending, burning through much of his donations, saying that he was acting like a "teen pop star," especially on private plane travel. She also rebuked DeSantis's approach to Florida's new school curriculum that teaches students that slaves benefited from being slaves.

She also criticized Ron DeSantis's suggestion of appointing Democratic anti-vaxxer candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). DeSantis actually walked back on that idea after criticisms from medical health professionals and fellow Republicans.

New Poll Shows Ron DeSantis is Struggling With Republican Women

The Economist and YouGov conducted a survey and asked 262 Republican women what they think regarding the 2024 presidential elections, and it does not look good for Ron DeSantis.

An overwhelming 55% of those who took the survey stated that they support Donald Trump and only 13% say they support Ron DeSantis for 2024, according to Florida Politics.

The Florida governor pushed policies that are not popular with women, including a six-week abortion ban and a ban on permanent alimony in divorce agreements. DeSantis showed how unpopular he is with women as a Yahoo! News poll showed that 48% of women, in general, disapprove of DeSantis while 24% approve of him. In a separate Civiqs poll. 63% of women disapprove of him, including 60% of female independent voters and 93% of Democratic women.

Florida Inflation Continues to Soar as Ron DeSantis 2024 Campaign Struggles

While inflation is going down in much of the US, Florida's inflation rates are actually going higher. While the national inflation rate is "rapidly cooling from its hottest pace in 40 years." Some parts in Florida on the other hand are experiencing a Consumer Price Index of 7.3%, particularly in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area.

While this is happening, DeSantis is still on the campaign trail and struggling not just in the polls, but to also earn money from donors. Trump continues to dominate while DeSantis stagnates and some of his other opponents are actually catching up.
