Brazil star Neymar is leaving Paris Saint-Germaine after an injury-addled season. He will be heading to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia next as the team may finally land their star after being snubbed by Neymar's former teammate Lionel Messi and his current teammate, Kylian Mbappe.

According to Al Jazeera, PSG did not issue a comment on the deal yet, but it could get the Brazilian 160 million euros. The transfer fee is reported to be around 90 million euros (around $98 million) plus add-ons. However, it is still subject to be completed after a medical examination, which the injury-prone Neymar must pass.

Neymar will reportedly have his medical done in Paris on Monday before going to Riyadh to be presented before fans at the King Fahd International Stadium on Wednesday. The Brazil superstar will wear the number 10 jersey as he will be managed by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus. Neymar is expected to play in the club's game against Al Fayha on Saturday.

Neymar's contract with PSG stated that he was supposed to play in Paris until 2025, but his transfer comes after his stint was addled with injuries. However, that does not mean that the Brazilian was not successful; far from it, as Neymar scored 118 goals in 173 appearances. He also won five Ligue 1 titles alongside Messi and Mbappe, though the trio never won a Champions League title despite being the reigning French league champions.

Neymar Wanted To Go Back To FC Barcelona, But...

Reports indicated that Neymar wanted to be sent to his old team, FC Barcelona, on loan. The Brazilian made a name for himself with Barca, even winning the UEFA Champions League alongside fellow South American superstars like Argentina's Lionel Messi and Uruguay's Luis Suarez. He wanted to be at least loaned to his old team while under contract with PSG.

However, Barcelona is currently facing some financial troubles, and they might not be able to afford Neymar. There are also reports that Neymar does not want to be coached by Barca's current manager, Xavi.

According to Barca Universal, soccer insider Fabrizio Romano stated in a podcast that Neymar said he would not return to Barcelona as long as Xavi is the manager. The reason for this may be the coach's "lack of enthusiasm" for the deal.

The FC Barcelona manager reportedly had reservations about Neymar's potential return to the Catalan giants and did not green-light the deal until the end.

Neymar Saudi Pro League Earnings Could Match Cristiano Ronaldo's

Al Hilal is primarily controlled by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, which has been spending enormous amounts of money to get European superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo to play in Saudi Arabia.

According to Sports Bible, Neymar will earn £260 million over his two years in Saudi. This rivals Cristiano Ronaldo's world-record £177 million-a-year salary that lured him to leave the competitive European leagues to play in the Middle East.

With all earnings taken into account, Neymar would be earning wages "comparable" to Cristiano Ronaldo.
