Selena Gomez is back with a brand new single titled "Single Soon," which was released last Friday; and her BFF, the queen of break-up songs herself, Taylor Swift, is praising it.

This is her first single in nearly a year, with People Magazine describing it as a "sultry, upbeat dance track."

As for Tay-Tay, the "Shake It Off" singer showered her best friend with love and took to social media to heap some praises for Selena Gomez, saying, "When your bestie is the bestest." She then reshared a reel originally posted by Gomez. The reel contained several clips from the song's music video.

Taylor Swift continued showing the new Selena Gomez song some love, saying, "Will be dancing to this forever methinks." Gomez, on the other hand, reposted her BFF's post on her own Instagram Story on Sunday.

The two have been friends for a long time and are both currently single as of writing. Swift broke up with Joe Alwyn earlier this year before going on a relationship with The 1975 frontman Matt Healy. However, the pair have since split up.

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez has been spotted with various people, including Zayn Malik, Jeremy Allen White, DJ Fred, and Drew Taggart. However, they have not been confirmed to be dating and the singer-actress even joked about being single on social media while she was allegedly dating some of the people mentioned.

'Sex and the City' Inspired a Scene in Music Video for Selena Gomez's New Song, 'Single Soon'

It seems that Selena Gomez has taken some inspiration from the HBO comedy series, "Sex and the City" for "Single Soon," as its music video referenced one of the show's most infamous events.

A particular scene from the 6th season of the acclaimed HBO series featured insecure novelist Berger, played by Ron Livingston, abruptly breaking up with Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, via a post-it note that read, "I'm sorry. I can't. Don't hate me."

In the song, Gomez sang, "Should I do it on the phone? / Should I leave a little note / In the pocket of his coat?" As she sings this, she settles on a tiny little post-it note to announce the break-up before going out on the town with her girlfriends, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Selena Gomez's New Song Is About Having Romantic Freedom

The new Selena Gomez song was highly anticipated and it certainly came with a whole lot of hype, and as Cosmopolitan noted, it was all about a "single girl summer" for the Latina singer-actress.

In the new song, she sang, "I'm pickin' out this dress / Tryin' on these shoes / 'Cause I'll be single soon / I'll be single soon / I know he'll be a mess / When I break the news / But I'll be single soon / I'll be single soon." This is a message to a boyfriend that he is about to get dumped and she will quickly move on to focus on her freedom, which she does in the music video as Gomez is seen partying with friends.
