Suzanne Morphew, a missing Colorado woman who disappeared on Mother's Day in 2020 while out for a bike ride, has been found deceased, as confirmed by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, CNN reports.

Morphew, 49, disappeared while cycling in the vicinity of County Road 225 and West Highway 50 near Maysville, Colorado.

Her remains were discovered in Saguache County, around 50 miles south of the location where she was last seen, as reported by the bureau in a news release.

Notably, the discovery occurred during an unrelated investigation in the Moffat area of Saguache County.

The El Paso County Coroner subsequently confirmed that the recovered remains indeed belonged to Suzanne Morphew.

Suzanne's husband, Barry, faced a first-degree murder charge in 2021 related to her disappearance.

However, in April 2022, the trial was halted after prosecutors opted to dismiss the case while investigations into her whereabouts continued. A judge ruled that the charges could still be pursued in the future.

CNN is currently seeking a response from Barry Morphew and his legal counsel. In May 2022, he expressed his love for his wife in an interview with ABC's Good Morning America, stating his desire for her safe return.

Missing Colorado Woman, Suzanne Morphew's Alleged Affair

Text messages released in June suggested that Suzanne had engaged in extramarital affairs while still married to Barry.

In these messages, she expressed affection for another individual, Jeff Libler, described as a high school flame.

These revelations raised questions about the state of Suzanne Morphew's marriage, according to Fox News.

Iris Eytan, Barry's attorney, asserted that her client was unaware of Suzanne's two-year affair with Libler and claimed that it had not been fully investigated by law enforcement.

Furthermore, the text messages indicated Suzanne's suspicion that her husband was also involved in an affair, leading to tensions in their relationship.

Suzanne had communicated with Barry in March 2020, suggesting they needed to address their issues amicably.

More recently, Barry filed a lawsuit against prosecutors, alleging wrongful arrest, detention, and prosecution for a crime he claims he did not commit.

In response to the potential complaint against Barry's attorney, 11th Judicial District Attorney Linda Stanley clarified that the filing of a complaint does not equate to an attorney's engagement in misconduct.

Suzanne Morphew and Jeff Libler

The extramarital relationship between Suzanne Morphew and Jeff Libler extended over approximately two years and occurred while Libler lived in Michigan, according to reports, said The Messenger.

Libler, who was married with six children, chose not to report the affair to authorities and expressed concerns about tarnishing Suzanne's reputation.

In November 2020, authorities interviewed the affair partner, during which Libler indicated that his phone had been destroyed.

Subsequently, investigators uncovered LinkedIn messages confirming their involvement and discussions about meeting on multiple occasions out of state, as well as the prospect of marriage and relocating to Ecuador.

At present, the whereabouts of Jeff Libler remains uncertain, as no online profiles belonging to him could be located.

Notably, authorities had previously stated that Libler was not considered a suspect in Suzanne Morphew's disappearance.
