Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx finally made his first public appearance since his health scare and hospitalization earlier this year at the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Cinema and Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements event.

Back in April, the award-winning actor and singer was hospitalized in Atlanta following a health scare which was described as an undisclosed medical condition. Concern from fans popped up regarding the actor, including rumors spreading of him almost dying.

As he took the stage, Jamie Foxx was met with a standing ovation from those present as he was overwhelmed with emotion for all the support he received after his hospitalization.

"I've been through something. I've been through some things. You know, it's crazy, I couldn't do that six months ago. I couldn't actually walk," he said on stage. "I'm not a clone, I'm not a clone. I know a lot of people who was saying I was cloned out there."

According to CNN, this was a reference to his role in Netflix's "They Cloned Tyrone." Aside from rumors of him almost dying at the hospital, conspiracy theories regarding him actually dying, being cloned, and being replaced by said clone have also popped up.

"I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy, because it's tough," the Oscar winner continued. "I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art. I watched so many movies and listened to so many songs trying to have the time go by. Don't give up on your art, man, don't give up."

During his speech, Foxx added that he wants everyone to see him "laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show," and adding, "I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through."

"I cherish every single minute now - it's different," Foxx told the crowd. "I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it's tough when it's almost over ... when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel - I didn't see the light," before joking, "It was hot in that tunnel too, I don't know where I was going. 'S**t, am I going to the right place?"

This was also his first public appearance since the sexual assault allegations against him were filed in New York, per The Daily Mail. However, the actor did not address these accusations during his 12-minute speech.

Foxx's family played a huge role in caring for him during his hospitalization in Atlanta, with his sister and daughters frequently visiting him during his time there. He then thanked them for keeping what his condition really is a secret, saying, "My sister and my daughter were so great at not letting anybody know anything that happened."

He also acknowledged his celebrity friends in the audience such as Lenny Kravitz, Fantasia, and Taraji P. Henson, saying "You need somebody like that in your corner."
