The Hollywood Awards Show season continues as after the Golden Globes, several series such as "Succession" and "The Bear" continued their winning ways during the 2024 Emmy Awards.

Several shows, actors, and actresses who won at the Golden Globes also won at this year's Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California and hosted by comedian Anthony Anderson. However, there are also a few surprises. Here are the winners:

'Succession' Wins Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series

The show inspired by the Murdoch family, which runs Fox News, is at it again. After a massive haul during the Golden Globes, the series, which just finished airing last year, continued its critically acclaimed run by winning the biggest awards on TV. Not only did the show win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, but Sarah Snook also won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while Kieran Culkin won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Meanwhile, Mark Mylod also won Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, while Jesse Armstrong won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.

'The Bear' Dominates Comedy Category

While "Succession" dominated drama, it was "The Bear," which won a lot of awards in the comedy category, including the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. Ayo Edebiri won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Finally, Jeremy Allen White won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

'BEEF' Dominates Limited Series Category

As for the Limited series, it was "Beef" that dominated, winning the Outstanding Limited/ Anthology series, while Ally Wong and Steven Yuen won Outstanding Actress and Actor, respectively, for a Limited/ Anthology series. Beef swept the category's major awards, in fact. Lee Sung Jung also won Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the limited series.

Elton John Wins EGOT

Elton John received another career milestone by winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special - Live with "Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium," which was streamed on Disney+. This means that the singer has won one of the rarest accolades in all of entertainment, the EGOT, which stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony, as he has now won all four.

Last Week Tonight Wins Yet Another Emmy

For yet another year, "Last Week Tonight With John Oliver" won another Emmy Award, this time for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series, besting "A Black Lady Sketch Show" and "Saturday Night Live." It also won Outstanding Writing for a Variety Show.

The Daily Show Wins Late Night Talk Show Emmy Battle

Trevor Noah may have left "The Daily Show" already, but the "fake news show" won the Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series, beating Late Night rivals, The Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night, and also The Problem With Jon Stewart.
