Just after he lost his bid to delay the New York porn star hush money trial, Donald Trump lost two more bids to throw out his upcoming criminal trials in Georgia and Florida, including the Georgia election interference case and the Federal classified documents case, the latter being overseen by a judge he appointed.

In the Georgia elections case, Judge Scott McAfee rejected Donald Trump's argument that his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election were protected under the First Amendment.

"The defense has not presented, nor is the Court able to find, any authority that the speech and conduct alleged is protected political speech," wrote the Fulton County Superior Court judge in his ruling, which was the latest step into holding the former president accountable for his actions in Georgia.

Despite Judge McAfee's ruling that the case will be moving forward and dismissing Trump's latest attempts to derail it, the judge has still not posted a trial date for the case. Previously, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis suggested she would be ready to go to trial as soon as August.

Judge McAfee, however, repeatedly said that Trump's First Amendment defense "has repeatedly fallen short in pretrial wrangling in election meddling cases."

"After interpreting the indictment's language liberally in favor of the State as required at this pretrial stage, the Court finds that the Defendants' expressions and speech are alleged to have been made in furtherance of criminal activity and constitute false statements knowingly and willfully made in matters within a government agency's jurisdiction which threaten to deceive and harm the government," the judge wrote in his order, which was issued on Thursday.

The judge previously threw out similar First Amendment challenges from the case's other co-defendants. Similar arguments have also been made in the federal election trial and have also been thrown out.

Trump-Appointed Judge Rejects Donald Trump's Latest Bid to Throw Out Classified Documents Case

Meanwhile, in Florida, Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon also threw out the former president's latest bid to dismiss the federal classified documents case in which Trump tried to illegally hide classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

According to the Associated Press, Judge Cannon found that the indictment makes "no reference to the Presidential Records Act," nor does it "rely on that statute for purposes of stating an offense."

She added that the act "does not provide a pretrial basis to dismiss" the case. This is the second time that Cannon has rejected the former president's efforts to dismiss the case.

Donald Trump's $175 Million New York Fraud Trial Bond's Legality Questioned

Over in New York, Trump was thrown a lifeline by the state's appellate court by lowering the bond for the $460 million judgment against him to just $175 million. He found a billionaire backer to pay that bond and now, the legality of that bond is being questioned.

New York Attorney General Letitia James showed her concerns regarding the bond in a filing on Thursday, pointing out that it was missing vital information typically included in those filings, including documents related to power of attorney for the bond provider, Knight Specialty Insurance Company.

In her filing, James stated that she took "exception to the sufficiency of the surety" given by Trump and the other defendants, according to CBS News. She also objected to the bond being issued by a company that is not an admitted carrier in New York, pointing out that this may have violated New York Insurance Law Section 1111.
