Regarded as the most infamous drug lord in the world, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Loera is complaining that the US justice system is not letting anybody visit him inside the ADX Florence Supermax Prison in Colorado, where some of the most notorious criminals in the world are being held.

The Sinaloa Cartel founder, known for his daring escapes and bragging that he killed between 2,000 to 3,000 people, complained that he had been feeling lonely and that his rights as a prisoner were being stripped away. This came after a judge ruled in an April 10 decision that it was not in his jurisdiction to determine if El Chapo is able to visit or call his family.

"This Court has no power to alter the conditions that the Bureau of Prisons has imposed," wrote Judge Brian M. Cogan, addressing the motion filed by the notorious drug kingpin's lawyers to the US District Court in the Eastern District of New York.

Previously, the Sinaloa Cartel founder was also denied visitation rights with his wife, Emma Coronel, and this was one of the things he was complaining about in his letter, writing, "Sorry to bother you again with the request that I have asked you before with regards to my wife, Emma Coronel, I ask that you please authorize her to visit me and to bring my daughters to visit me since my daughters can only visit me when they are on school break since they are studying in Mexico."

According to The Daily Mail, El Chapo also asked the judge to restore his right to speak with his two daughters for at least twice a month for 15 minutes. He claimed that he has not spoken to them since May 2023, after ADX Florence stopped authorizing these phone calls.

El Chapo Claims Prisons Are Discriminating Against Him

In that same letter, El Chapo claimed that there is an "unprecedented discrimination against me," adding, "They have decided to punish me by not letting me talk to my daughters."

However, in his denial of the notorious drug kingpin's request, Judge Cogan pointed out it is not his responsibility anymore as "the Bureau of Prisons became solely responsible" for the conditions in El Chapo's imprisonment.

According to the Associated Press, the letters Guzman sent to the judge in New York are accessible to the public.

El Chapo May Be Trying To Run the Sinaloa Cartel from Behind Bars Should Phone Privileges Be Restored

Meanwhile, as El Chapo tries to get back his phone privileges, legal analysts are warning that doing so may lead to him once again trying to run the Sinaloa Cartel from behind bars. He previously used his phone privileges to do so and even planned one of his daring prison escapes with it.

ABC7 Legal Analyst Gil Soffer stated that "US law enforcement will keep El Chapo under such extraordinary security measures until there is no longer a possibility that he will try to run the Sinaloa cartel from behind bars."
