It is safe to say that a lot of people are not very happy with Sean "Diddy" Combs after CNN released that video of him assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura inside a hotel. One of the people slamming the rap mogul is fellow rapper 50 Cent.

"This is not going to work, who is advising him right now? SMH bad move," said the popular rapper, who has had a history with Diddy, feuding with the Bad Boy CEO and often mocking him.

According to Billboard, what 50 Cent was talking about was not the attack itself but Diddy's apology video on Instagram. The real-life Sean Combs has maintained his innocence throughout the court cases and allegations against him and only issued the apology video two days after CNN released the hotel footage.

Basically, 50 Cent was criticizing Diddy for only releasing an apology after he lost the court case to Cassie that proved he assaulted her after the video was seen by the public. The Instagram post slamming Diddy has gone viral, with almost 300,000 likes as of writing.

"It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that," said Diddy in his apology video. was f-ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."

In the footage obtained by CNN, Diddy beat up his then-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, kicking her multiple times and throwing objects at her while she was down. He eventually stopped his assault after the elevator arrived, and another hotel guest stepped out of it.

Diddy was not the only one who apologized after the video surfaced, but also his frequent defender, Slim Thug. The rapper admitted he had an error in his judgment and apologized to Cassie Ventura in a public apology post on Instagram.

"I tried to ride with the Blk man who had no charges yet but I can't stand behind this," the rapper admitted, adding he has no ill will towards Ventura and that "I'll take this L."

LA District Attorney Admits They Cannot Go After Diddy After Cassie Ventura Assault Video Surfaces

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office released a statement regarding Diddy's assault on his ex soon after CNN released the controversial footage, with the DA admitting that they found the video "disturbing." However, they also conceded that they cannot go after the rap mogul.

"We are aware of the video that has been circulating online allegedly depicting Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles," the statement read. "We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch. If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately, we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted."

In other words, the crime happened so long ago that Diddy cannot be prosecuted anymore. However, Cassie did file a civil lawsuit against him and won, with a jury finding Diddy liable for abuse.
