Serial Killer Richard Evonitz's Wife Speaks Out, Plans to Address More Questions
Bonnie Lou Gower, who married infamous serial killer Richard Evonitz when she was still 17, has finally spoken out on TikTok after new details have surfaced that he may have killed more people and not just the three teenage girls he was found guilty of killing.
In the TikTok video, which has already garnered over 10 million views as of writing, she revealed that she was only 17 when she married the serial killer and divorced him when she was 25. She added that it was the FBI that informed her that her ex-husband was responsible for murdering three teenage girls.
In that same video, she explained that 20 years after leaving him, she learned that he murdered multiple additional people before and during their marriage, according to PEOPLE Magazine.
She released a follow-up video on TikTok, explaining that she was friends with his younger sister and that she introduced them to each other. However, she did not provide any details about her time married to the convicted serial killer but did promise to post another follow-up video to address more questions.
Gower added that she has also written a book regarding her marriage to Richard Evonitz and is now looking for a publisher to release that said book.
Evonitz was arrested in 2002 after he abducted then-15-year-old Kara Robinson (now Kara Robinson Chamberlain). She managed to escape while he was asleep and went to the authorities, telling police everything she knew about where the serial killer held her. This led to a police chase in Florida, where he was eventually arrested.
"My ability to escape was part of my trauma response," said Chamberlain in a TikTok video. "So I was able to stay calm and collected and appease my captor so that I could make him feel safe enough to sleep. So when I escaped, it was when he was asleep the next morning. I was handcuffed. I had to actually use my teeth to kind of loosen the clip that connected the handcuffs to the bed and then slide out of the bed, get my things together. So I think the key for me was to stay calm, and that's not always an option for everyone."

Serial Killer Richard Evonitz May Be Responsible for Several Unsolved Killings in South Carolina
Richard Evonitz used to be in the US Navy, and he may be responsible for several unsolved killings that happened in South Carolina while the ship he was on was docked in the city of Charleston.
On the day his ship docked in Charleston, a young boy named Justin Turner went missing. As a serial killer, Evonitz had a penchant for driving over 50 miles to abduct his victims and preferring rural areas. The boy's parents, Victor and Megan Turner, are accused of killing him, but no evidence connects them to the killing. This has led to speculations that it may be Evonitz, though detectives and the FBI have declined to investigate this angle.
Authorities Under Scrutiny Over Ignoring Richard Evonitz Angle in Young Boy's Disappearance
The lawyer for Turner's parents has revealed in a court filing that an FBI multi-state advisory dated March 14, 2008, has shown that the agency was advised regarding the other possible killings made by Evonitz. This was because he traveled extensively in 22 states, including South Carolina, Virginia, California, New York, and Illinois, from 1980 to 2002.
In that filing, lawyer Shaun Kent alleges that the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office ignored the report because of "tunnel vision." The Clark family attorney noted that the sheriff was focused on his client and not actually investigating the case, which happened way back in 1989.
However, the sheriff's office has stated that it only recently learned about Evonitz being in the same area when the boy went missing, according to Live 5 News.
